Hi, I wanted to test the new pirate mission arc for Serpentis/Angel Cartel, but can't find the agent who starts them. Are they already on SiSi with the current patch ? And if yes, where can I find those agents ? _____________________________________________________ My skills // Faction Standings: Serpentis +8.02 / Angel Cartel +9.24 / Gallente Federation -10.00 |

Can I get an answer on this please ? 1. Are Pirate speed mission arcs already on SiSi = Yes/No ? 2. IF 1. = Yes: Is the location of the agents meant to be kept secret = Yes/No ? 3. IF 2. = No: Where can I find the Agent for Angel Cartel and Serpentis ?

1. No - sov testing first so mid november id say at easrliest 2. Well no epic arcs yet but standard agetns for serpentis can be found in fountain mostly at serpetnis prime and surrounding station Angels not sure i think down in wicked creek
At the moment its in the prime area youll see certain points of interest on the map. Also look for NPC stations i 00.
I would check weekly in case ccp seed the pirate arcs earlier but most of this sort of content is tested in house and players only get a limited time to try it out beforehand before the big patch

The pirate arcs should be hitting Sisi this week, probably Wednesday. So you guys will have plenty of time to test them out.

Are there any plans as part of this to fix the standings issue with pirate corporations? By this I mean that it's not difficult for players that begin their careers in empire before moving to 0.0 space to reach the point of irrecoverably bad standings with the pirate factions, making the pirate missions impossible to run.
For the empire factions, there is typically a trade-off of standings, so players who run, say, Minmatar missions end up losing Amarrian standings, but there are enough intermediate factions that share standings that the situation can be fixed, given time.
For the pirate factions, though, the shared standings sets are small enough that this isn't possible. Serpentis, for instance, share faction standings only with Angels and Syndicate, and all three tend to be depleted concurrently running empire missions. If you get under -4.0 standings with all three (including the connections skill), it is literally impossible to recover standings in the current game mechanics.
It seems silly to add 'epic' mission arcs if the vast majority of players (who probably didn't start out living in 0.0 space) are unable to do them due to standings issues.

I have put an idea elsewhere for a cross between explroation and cosmos - pirate factions in low sec placing their agents in random cosmic signature points. These agents would reotate around perhaps give 5 missions and then respawn somewhere else ( ccp could put up a whole range of level 1-3 agents) and agents that would allow u to reverse youre standing losses as well.
LP offers would be blueprints perhaps level 4 agetns would be restricted to 00. But given low sec is lawless ( less) space and less secure than empire u would think agents of the pirate factions would hang around in certain locations for a while giving kill and cargo missions from neraby stations smuggling black market items and what not. Plus would add to low sec exploration and give peeps a reson to be out there
Back to pirate arcs well looks good

We are looking at ways of alleviating standings loss in general, but there are no designs in place as of yet.
However, for the pirate arcs, we did take measures to ensure that the players can play the arc, even if their standings with the pirates are low. We want people to play these arcs, and we've worked with the system to allow access to the arcs.
There are three initial agents for these arcs: one pirate agent and two empire agents. The standings check for epic arcs are only on the initial agent, so if you have good standings with any of the three agents, you can play this arc. Thus, there are multiple avenues to fly with pirates :)

As much as I appreciate the gesture, doesn't it cheapen the whole thing if practically anyone can run them?
What is the point of having factions like pirates if there are no restriction as to who can access them, it is one of the few remaining RP elements left in Eve
At least make running the pirate arcs cost the player dearly in opposed Empire standing (Caldari/Gurista, Amarr/Blood-Sansha etc.).
Say "HELL NO" to making Eve softer than absolutely necessary!

Due too standing related issues with testing the Pirate Epic Arc, will we be given the standings necessary to do them? -----------------

Two things that will deter players from running this arc:
1. These missions are almost entirely in nullsec. I doubt that that's making it softer for players.
2. You are still flying for pirates, and thus you will do pirate things. Don't expect to gain favor with the Caldari by flying for the Guristas, for example.
We have to make sure these missions are accessible to players. Not everyone has high standing with the pirates. But that doesn't mean we can't give the pirates their due; they're too cool for us to ignore.

Excellent, consider me appeased
PS: Might want to make the agents not be in space like the Empire arcs. No fun if they are perma-bubble camped

I'm fairly certain you can accept and turn in missions to in space agents whilst cloaked.

Go away really. CCP make these and also put in low sec pirate agents as well if u must. Opening up this game to players and youre desire to open up 00 space is to be commended and this is a good start i will enjoy running when sisi comes up and then on TQ these pirate faction arcs

Edited by: Kathryn Dougans on 14/10/2009 19:54:07 completed one arc, for Angels. Start was an Amarr Navy agent in space in Sendaya. (May be others that start this arc)
10 missions, all doable in a Retribution.
a module and a bpc as rewards.
No faction standings gain for Angels.
Some minor faction standings losses to other pirate factions and empire factions that you shoot at during the course of the arc.
