Myself and another mate have had our games crashing for an entire day now - extreme lag and socket disconnects every two minutes or less... it got even worse this evening but in any case, the game has been un-playable for a day.
I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I doubt we are the only two.
Are CCP going to give us an extra day on our subscription? unlikely. Have they even given us any word on why this is occuring or how long we can expect this to go on for? Not that I can see.
Now don't get me wrong - I love EVE and I am eternally grateful to CCP for creating such an amazing game but the level of service often leaves a lot to be desired. Just to be clear, this is not CCP bashing - this is genuine customer feedback because we are afterall customers that pay for a service that is not being provided.
Anyone else getting the same issues?

The rest of your post is cool and fair enough but I would remove this part before you get flamed to hell and back.

No and I think this is why you are not seeing anything from CCP

you don¦t know if it is CCP¦s prob, but ask for a "free" day?
well no connection probs here so you maybe should start searching at your end.

Yeah that's fair enough but as I said; me and another mate are experiencing this exact same problem. Unfortunately I can't get in touch with any of my other friends that play but I wouldn't have said anything if it was just me.
And I am prepared to get flamed but I will ignore those posts as unconstructive, ignorant comments.
This isn't the first time this has happened where I later found out the problem to be with the EVE servers and you can't all honestly tell me that you haven't experienced something similar without being reimbursed for time lost. I don't know about Iceland but here in Australia it is a crime to sell a product or service that is subsequently not being provided (from memory I think it's under Trade Practices Act 1976)
My internet is running perfectly but as a precaution I have reset the router, rebooted my computer and even installed the client on another computer and tried from there - no joy. Not sure what else I can do.
Guess I'll just hope that CCP saw fit to fix it before I wake up in the morning.

According to the server monitor at games.chruker.dk , the server didn't crash in the last 24 hours. If you and your mate share a common point on your link with the Eve servers, you might want to look into that. ----

Considering that I flew with plenty of people last night, and I can still connect now (with 40,000 other people connected) I would say it's not CCP that's causing the problems. _________

Connection-wise, my Eve experience has been rock-solid this week. In fact, it's been great for ages. I can't remember the last time I had lag, although I haven't been in a large fleet fight or FW for a while.

Ah. There's a long bit of internet between Oz & the UK. I'd try using traceroute or pingplotter to see if there are any network issues between you and the servers. I assume your mate is also in Australia?

OK well thank you for the constructive comments - much more helpful than flaming :)
But as far as I know, my mate and I are not sharing the same internet provider... Is it possible this is happening because we are in the same country? Does EVE even work like that?
I just can't figure this out and I've now lost a day of game time, I don't want to lose another one.
So with the trouble shooting I have already tried, does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can do?

Apologies - didn't see this reply before my last post.
I assume Traceroute and Pingplotter are downloadable freeware programs? Aside from telling me that the internet in Australia is archaic, how exactly will they help me?

Traceroute is a command that PCs can use (not sure about macs) to track how quickly they connect to a certain IP address. It can be used to show you where a connection breaks down. Open up command prompt, then type in 'tracert 87.237.38.200'. This will show you where latency problems occur between you and CCP.
Pingplotter, and how to use it, is explained here:Linkage _________

Internet relayed traffic out of the country (or even the same area) is generally not affected by ISPs. It's the big badass routers that do, and if they have an issue, everyone downstream has an issue, regardless of what ISP they have. If the traffic goes thru the superrouter and it has an issue...the tag on the packets won't matter :D
