Did you want to join that hot new pirate corp, only to be turned away because you've never drawn blood before?
Do you think you need 40 million skillpoints and a Falcon alt to pirate? You're wrong.
Do you want to learn how to strike fear in to the hearts of carebears, and feast upon their delicious frozen corpses? You're off to a good start.
We here at The Python Cartel recognize the problems facing prospective pirates. That's why we've decided to open up The Python Cartel Academy!
What is The Python Cartel Academy? The Academy is a training corp for those who want to learn the art of piracy. Our team of instructors, all seasoned veterans in the art of terrorizing carebears, will teach you everything you need to know to be a pirate in our 4 week course of hands on, intense instruction.
What will you learn during the course? A few examples:
* + Aggression rules in Low Security Space, including GCC and sentry gun mechanics.
* + The fundamentals of PvP: Tracking, Wolfpacks, Directional Scanner.
* + Ship Fittings: Why we don't civilian fit our Ruptures.
* + Fleet & Solo Piracy Techniques, including lessons on ransoming.
* + Low Sec Logistics: how to survive with a low security status.
* + Long-Term skill paths: In-depth explanations and demonstrations on the various races and many of their ships to help you decide what you want to fly down the line.
* + Electronic Warfare tutorials and demonstrations
* + The ABC's of commanding a Fleet: Choosing your prey, when to run, when to stay, how to spot bait, how to bite bait, everything the potential FC would need to know.
* + How to choose a corp: Avoiding "mission, mining, exploration, and pirate" type corps and how to find the type of corp that fits your play style.
* + And a whole lot more!
The course will last for 4 weeks (5 weekends), with lectures Tuesday through Sunday, with critical lectures being on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays. Lectures will be accompanied by hands-on demonstrations and wargames to foster learning. After the lecture, the instructors will lead a gang out to get some real-world experience. And, of course, students are encouraged to ask the instructor anything they want to know. Don't learn nothin' if you don't ask! Between lectures students are encouraged to roam solo, in gangs, or even join Python Cartel gangs.
Don't know how to fit a ship for piracy? That's ok! Besides the fact that we'll be teaching that, we've got you covered. On Day 1 of class, all students will be issues 15 pre-fitted Tech 1 Frigates, the exact class to be decided based on what the student is best able to fly. By the time these are all gone, the students should have a grasp on both how to fit a ship, and how to get new ships in to low security space. And if you missed that lecture, just ask an instructor! That's what we're here for, after all.
"That sounds good and all, but what's it gonna cost me?"
The Academy isn't free, as you can probably guess. But we're not going to ask you to sell your kidney to the nice Chinese man in the alley. Our entire 4 week course costs only 10 million ISK. Unless you're Dr. Evil and playing Eve in the 1960's, that's pretty good bang for your space buck.
At the end of the course, you'll be ready to strike fear in to the hearts of carebears across New Eden, find yourself a good bunch of scurvy dogs to steal rum from, and lead your peglegged minions out to glory.
What are you waiting for? Head on over to our forums and apply! Have any questions? Send an Eve-mail to Golden Helmet, Lars Lodar, or Lachesis VII. Just feel like chatting? Join our channel "Python Public"!

We are a mostly US timezone corp. The weekend course will be taught by Lachesis VII and Golden Helmet and I believe they are thinking late afternoon into the evenings.
I'll be teaching during the week. I'm pretty flexible so I'll wait to see what peoples availability is before I determine a time.

Give it about a day or so. I'll have to contact the other directors and see if we can settle on specific lecture times weeks before the class happens. If you'd like to drop a tentative app we can review it before you make a commitment.

I would edit the original post, but it's got like 7 letters free atm
Anyways, a tentative lecture schedule that is subject to change, but it'll give the general idea. All times are in PST because converting to Eve time is for losers.
Tuesday (Lars): 12PM Wednesday (Lars): 12PM Friday (Golden Helmet): first lecture at 1PM for the Euros, second at either 5 or 6 PM for the US crew Saturday (Lachesis + GH): 11AM-12PM roughly Sunday (Lachesis + GH): 11AM-12PM roughly
This schedule doesn't include any guest lecturers, they get to pick their own times.
The length of each lecture varies depending on whats scheduled for that day. Some days might have only 15-20 minutes of lecture and then pew pew, others may go upwards of 1-1.5 hours and then pew pew. RL emergencies pending, each lecture will be followed by real-world yarring
Any other questions, please feel free to post, send me an eve-mail, or even convo me ingame
