Would it be an effective use of training time for an Amarr Covert Ops alt to use the 100% boost to cut Amarr Cruiser V down to 15 days from the normal 30+? I have anew alt that only has the base learning skills so would be able to fit this within the 100% boost SP cap (I think!).
Thoughts?

As soon as you set a skill that takes you over the boost portion it's gone. So no, this would be a bad idea. Train right up to 1.6 mil but don't set a skill that would go over.

IMO the best use of the training time boost is to train up your learning skills with the bonus training. That way you get some annoying skills out of the way early and have quicker training times for your 'real' skills. Then again, I am just thinking of this from the standpoint of making an alt. If you are a true newbie then I would suggest using that time to train up a bunch of skills that pertain to whatever it is that you think is fun to do in EVE, using evemons learning skills suggestions and only training them when it would be truly beneficial to reach your shorter term goals. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Learning skills ftw.
Cruizer V doesnt do anything for you if you dont have the other 5M or so in supporting skills for tanking and DPS.

Learning skills, so you get to the 20+ days that is the actual normal.
Edit: Fun comes first. If you need skills to enjoy the game now, train them first, bonus be damned.

It doesn't matter what you train during your boost. It's like having 800k skillpoints trained in the past, regardless of what you put those skillpoints into.
It does, however, matter what you train first. Training learning skills first (and making smart use of your remaps) leads to eventually having more skillpoints than someone who did things less "optimally."
The 2x boost just happens to come at the same time as what you train first, but the boost isn't the important thing - it's the order in which you train things.
