I just noticed that my Sisi cache has gotten pretty big. Like, 350mb big. 10mb of it is ships, 11 is 'MachoNet', 10mb is 'GIDs', and 316mb is cached planetary textures. Each planet drops a 16mb DDS file in the cache folder, and after only a few hours on the Test Server, my cache is already 316 megs.
Now, normally, this isn't a problem. But my cache is on my system partition, not the partition where EVE is. My system partition is only ten gigabytes.
If it's at 316 megs already, what's going to happen when every planet on Tranq is like the few new and improved ones on Sisi? I'm going to start running out of disk space in a serious hurry.
Just a heads up to those of you who might be in the same position, with relatively small system partitions. Aside from LUA OFF I haven't found an easy way to get Eve to relocate the cache and settings folders, but I'm thinking LUA OFF is somewhat deprecated.

There should be an option in game to select where your cache and settings are stored or something. Barring that, allow us to do:
Quote: eve.exe /cache "d:\stuff\evestuff"
But 10 gigs on the OS drive is a tad small though. Just saying...

Or just redirect your Local App Data folder.
If you only have a 10Gb system drive (which seems a bit small tbh) you'll want to redirect it anyway as pretty much every program will dump a load of crap in there. My App Data folder is about 25Gb atm. Synex BIG

I have the same setup, a pretty small system partition and several other main partitions. I use the /end /LUA:OFF switch to place my cache into the eve program folder. Just change the target of your eve shortcut to -
"D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /END /LUA:OFF
(or wherever you installed to) Be sure to copy your cache/settings folders to the new location (ie D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\Cache or D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\Settings) or you'l lose your bookmarks and overviews etc.

That switch is officially not supported, and has been reported as "not working" by multiple players and CCP. Best to go for the userprofiles appdata redirect option. _

I have had to resize my ramdisk to 1GB, and hope I do not have to increase it further. Which would cover 2 clients on tranquility and 2 clients on singularity (test).
600 MB used and about 400 MB free space currently.
Would be nice to see a little devblog or something about any changes in the cache files.

I prefer using the command line to be honest.
It's generally a good idea to completely separate user profiles and system from each other. Windows doesn't support that using a gui, but you can modify a registry key so that every new account will be created on a partition of your choosing. If you set up a system, just use that, backups will be much easier too. ----------------------------------------------
