Press reports have come in all across New Eden of unprovoked suicide attacks on mining fleets in 11 separate regions. Initial Concord reports on the situation did not indicate that the attacks were part of larger terrorist effort to sabotage the ship building industry, but as the number of attacks grew over the weekend it became apparent that the attacks we indeed all linked and guided by some malefic intelligence.
The reasons behind the attacks are still unclear to the authorities, as none of the perpetrators were apprehended. The only clues lie in the garbled and incoherent radio chatter some of the terrorists broadcast during their attacks, which military experts have linked to a smaller outbreak of attacks in the Sinq Laison region earlier this month, suggesting the attacks may have been directed by an outlaw faction known to reside near the Stion constellation. In other news today...

And lulz were had, all our ships were neatly covered by the wonderful C-type boosters and named mining laser upgrades we looted. Though we were dismayed that a rare A-type booster and dark blood coproc got popped :(

I'm not sure we got a lot of those, it appears many of them where nowhere near their keyboards at all, in many cases concord will kill the gankers before they can pod the victim, and our scouts would report in 45 minutes later that the pods were still sitting in the exact same spot. Macros anyone?

And that was precisely the goal. EVE is a dark and dangerous place, and even miners SHOULD be wary.
What they should not be, is getting fat on isk with impunity while nowhere near their computer for long periods of time.
