ETA for Dust? :D
From a build-time perspective, this would make the vessel very large. Larger than a titan. I don't think war barges were supposed to be that large.

More like decades if I'm reading it right-it seems to start about the present time, with the last part being years in the future as the scientist is considerably older, and the young'n is a chief scientist of gravitonics, not something even we, the demigods, can do in a few months. Good chronicle though, and it's missing the "discuss this with other players..." link. ---- --- ---

TBH I think this is a reference to the first minmatar titan ever built... As it does say it is wayyy bigger than the dreadnoughts.
Interesting read :) -Betray- |

That's what I thought; it's just a titan. I mean; how long are those battles between minny and amarr ago? because the guy has witnessed them so he would be pretty old to be still alive.... right?

It's not a titan. Remember, titans were around BEFORE wormholes. This was brought back from a wormhole. Also, the description somehow reminds me of the icon that gives you something of a visual for a sleeper intact hull. A war barge seems something plausible..maybe advanced engines to help carry crew, marines and MCC's. While someone said that the war barges wouldn't need to be so big, remember, these things are carrying a LOT of MCC frigate sized ships. So it needs to be pretty damn big... Thought I do like one of the above mentioned ideas of a TRUE exploration ship. Regions without star gates? It's about damn time we got to REALLY explore space, and in the right way... A ship half the size of a moon with guns the size of a Mothership. /me refuses to use the "term" supercarrier. Motherships 4tw!

After the titan / supercap test on Sisi about a week and a bit ago, we were all hanging around in fleet channel talking (on Eve-Voice, for which the supercap test was also a proving ground for) with Weirdfish about what was happening, how the test went and so on.
Someone joked that they wanted a mothership, and Weirdfish said, "I can't give you a mothership, but I can give you a supercap!" I asked, "Wait, then what's a mothership?" And Weirdfish said, "Well, Mothership is reserved for something else."
Now, I have an inkling as to what that something else is.

Very interesting Chronicle. It does bring up an idea for exploration in the game. How about instead of only getting BPOs or BPCs and making the ships based on those, how about finding relics, such as what happened in the beginning and deriving your own BPOs from them, to build new components, after you have all the proper components you can assmeble them into a ship (T4 ships or advanced T3) A modular ship that would be totally customizable to suit your needs based on the modules that you decide to use. Once the ships have been assembled, they cannot be disassembled into their basic components, but sold through contracts. Make the components available to everyone regardless of where in space you live. Maybe give a relic or two for mission rewards, make the same parts available in low and null sec as you would in empire but make us search them out and find them. Once found we would need to examine the relic or have an NPC assist us in the examination. In building the ships you will not be limited to what size it is for you have the ability to customize the ships modules to make it frigate size or dread sized based on what modeules you have and how many of them. Obviously the larger your ship the more care about proper structure would be needed or your ship would take penalties in different aspects of its stats. I would go on and on about it but for now this will be enough.
I think that this would make a great addition to the game and also put more of the world into our hands.

This is the first time they're building a new technology of ship that is somewhere between dread and titan size. Future production can be streamlined once they have a working blueprint, but till then the theories and construction have to be tested as they're built.
Very upbeat, fun read, deep thought life questions, big spaceships, old-man war stories. Loved it.

This brought a huge smile to my face, awesome Blade Runner reference.
I really liked the rest of the Chronicle as well, I always welcome insight in the "planetary world" of EVE. ____________________________________ "One mans thrash is a Minmatar's ship component" |

This helped me understand the Minmatar mentality more clearly than the entirety of The Empyrean Age.
Very moving story, even if several of the character arcs were left open.

great, just awesome. great chronicle Molock. I felt a Matarian sense of pride, like i could almost see the ship. i bet she's a beauty. if there are going to be some new ships, i cant wait to get in them. Dominion will make a lot of players happy, including myself. At first the characters seem vaguely Caldaritarian, but i guess every race has capitalism in it, huh? Support you tribe!!!
