Can not find it, but there was some guide of how you can make your ship imposible from being probed out without using a cloak.
It had some sugested modules, and how small you needed to become to be immune, or close to immune :)
Anybody got a linky to it? Could not find it in search (prob wrong keywords).

Anything that boosts your sensor strength, or reduces your sig radius.
I believe the rule is that once your Sensor:Sig ratio is 1.01:1, you are completely immune to being probed out. Obviously, that's hard to do. But the closer you get, the more of a pain it will be to find you.
If anyone has better information, please correct me.

Which eccm type should I use? Or does it depend on race? If so what race/type combo?

Just fill the med slots with your best named racial specific ECCM.
I do this with my golem all the time when missioning in ammamake. Have yet to see any prats warp in on me.

If you are trying to avoid getting ninja'ed, then just fitting one good eccm will do the trick, as most ninjas try to home in on the strongest signal, and your will simply be weaker than most.
If you want to make your ship totally immune to probing to keep you safe in low/null sec, you will end up gimping it so hard that it would be better just to fit a cloak and scan for probes and cloaking up when you see some show up on scan.
