Edited by: Cikness on 20/10/2009 19:43:52 I am working on the skills to fly a Tengu for L4 missions. I am currently doing them in a Drake. I can complete any L4, but EA5, without using my drones. When I get scramming frigates I just load precision missile and kill them. Will this tactic work for an HML Tengu, of am I going to need a painter? It makes a big diffence, having a little more cap and an extra hardener slot will save a lot of isk on tank components.

Yes. That does work very well.
However, I would suggest you still load a painter on. If you have fit your tengu correctly, you have seven meds, which leaves an adequate 5 meds to tank with after AB and painter. That will enable you to kill the hell out of frigs very quickly, as well to use fury missiles and do full damage to cruisers.
Basically, since the tengu tanks so damn hard, theres no reason not to use a painter, because it increases your completion time and reduces the chance of getting butt****ed.

I prefer the 7/3 set-up because it doesn't need to skimp on anything. I've always got a painter and an ab, and plenty of room to tank it.
However, I'm a HAMs user, which means I NEED an AB, so I guess its down to personal taste.

As for the slot setups
This is for all subsystems, is there any way to see what slot layout they will provide without actually fitting the module?
