Edited by: Koreanz on 21/10/2009 00:04:07 Personally I do not have a problem with the system as it stands. I don't believe people should flag on salvage but should on stealing the can. Others will disagree. I'm not here to argue about that. The problem lies in a couple things. You only have a few options available to you in countering salvaging; (with low SP)blowing up wrecks; having a 2nd acct that active salvages; bringing corp mates along and splitting the loot; (with high SP) running a Marauder or a BS with a trac/salv and losing some dps because of it.
Drones - Salvage Drones
These drones would have 5 ranks just like all other drones. Small drones would be equal to rank 1 salvaging. Mediums will be equal to rank 3 salvaging and Large will be equal to rank 5. They would not be better than having a skilled pilot dedicated to salvage skills w/ rigs. They would not benefit from salvage rigs or any other salvage related skills.
I personally donÆt think this would unbalance the salvaging game because pilots who are running these missions would need to make a decision (Aside from domis). These drones will take up drone cargo space just like any others and small drones would not be optimal at all because the amount of salvage returned.
Furthermore, anything salvaged will be stored in the drones ôsmall cargoö and if it gets destroyed so does all the salvage. Make the cargo hold 1 way (You can only take from it, not place stuff in) and only hold ôsalvageö classified material. This will keep players from using these drones as extra cargo space.
*EDIT: This was posted in crime and punishment because this is where everyone cry's about ninja salvaging

CCP has already responded to those crying about ninja looters and salvagers. People wanted ccp to do something about it and it's coming out in the new expansion. It happens to be a handy feature called "Abandon Wreck". XD

As I understand it, the "Abandon Wreck" is an option that the creator of the wreck has to choose to abandon the wreck. How is this going to affect ninja salvaging exactly? Anyone who tears over a ninja "stealing" their salvage is not going to voluntarily abandon the wreck (which means both loot AND salvage is free to take), and anyone who doesn't really give a **** won't be bothered clicking "Abandon Wreck" on 50+ wrecks in a mission.
Oh, and a Linky to the test server feedback discussion. Took me 30 seconds to do this.
I suggest that you have a lot to learn. --------------- He who stumbles around in the dark with a stick is blind. But he who sticks out in darkness is . . . fluorescent! |

I would assume it allows ninjas to use tractor beams on it.
I suggest that you can't detect sarcasm.

The system for player loot drops works to a specific and exact formula: If you kill someone else they drop cap boosters 99% of the time and any fitted faction mods 1% of the time. If they kill you the percentages are reversed.
