Hey, I wanted to ask some career advice, what ship(s) I should train for;
I have been playing for about 10 weeks and I have 3.6 million skillpoints,
I am focussing on a military career for the Caldari navy, and later when I am more experienced, I want to go pvp.
I fly in a nicely fitted Drake, and I need some advice on what my next ship(s) should be to be able to do better missions. I am now doing level 3's without any problem at all.
Since there are so many ships in eve I have almost no idea what kind of ship I should fly next.

Ravens are good for level 4 missions.
You can start PVP today, no need or benefit from waiting. Buy and outfit a couple dozen Kestrels and join factional warfare.

The point is that I fully back the second poster. Waiting too much before starting to do PVP just gets you flying too expensive ships and lose them in line. You can start right away with inexpensive ships to learn the ropes. Yes, you will lose and lose again but thats the most important lesson in PVP to think after every battle what want wrong and how can you improve. And you will get rid of the mental fear of losing ships and get the confidence to be aggressive in battle. That learning process can start as soon as you spawn in school station with your Ibis. And it is best done with inexpensive ships you can lose in numbers. In EVE who dares wins. At least from time to time. :)

Allright, thanks for the advice so far, I will start looking into pvp'ing in frigots.
But for mission ships, I was wondering what would be good to train for next. A raven is a little too far amt, isn't there a different ship between a raven and a drake?

Nope, there's nothing inbetween the drake and the raven. yhere's a few good cruiser-sized ships, but those are command ships and heavy assault ships, and also will take forever to train. But a drake does level 4 missions just fine, albeit slowly.

Thanks for the help, I was advised to train for a nighthawk, but training for it will take me over a 100 days.
So I guess I have to train for a raven?

My personal opinion is that training for nighthawk at this point is pretty useless. It is ok for PVP ship but there is much more ships than can do the same with far less cost. 1 command ship in bigger fleet is ok but for anything else it's pretty lousy as it's cost to effect. I prefer you training the raven now for missions. Even though Drake does lvl 4's ok and fitted with Heavy Assault missiles is ok for PVP too as a DPS/tank.
