Edited by: Mei Khlolov on 23/10/2009 06:04:15 It's really hard to decide, I do wormhole PvP mostly so the Pilgrim may be better for that, but I've heard the Curse is less dependent on the Recon V skill to succeed.
And yes, I know I should get Recon V asap

The Pilgrim is almost unfitable without Recon V, horrid CPU problems.
Curse all the way, the Pilgrim has a pretty narrow target selection and doesn't play well into gangs. *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

Well it's workable with Recon 4, I came up with this for what I'd use it for.
[Pilgrim, 0.0/WH hunter] 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Adaptive Nano Plating II Damage Control II Medium Armor Repairer II
Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator 10MN MicroWarpdrive I Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800 Initiated Harmonic Warp Scrambler I
Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Diminishing Power System Drain I Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Trimark Armor Pump I Trimark Armor Pump I
Hammerhead II x5 Warrior II x5

No it is not the best mid-large gang, but it is a good for a scout in small, and probably the best solo.
I usually like to pirate in my pilgrim, with a ab/800/1-2td/scramb and/or web/cap booster/MAR/2neuts/cloak/1reconprobe you need recon V and a cpu %3

My plans have always been lowsec piracy, where AB is beneficial (no bubble camps, and you open up inside scram range anyway).
wh-local is more attractive for the pilgrim - but how mandatory a MWD is for wh gatecamps? MWD fits seem to be more logical on the curse? You also get the side benefit of being able to tailor your highslots to carry enough neuting power, and potentially drop a neut for dps when you get recon V?
My advice, fly both and give me your experience :D

There is not that many WH camps, and you start in range of jumping back thorugh the WH anyways.
MWD is essential most of teh tiomes tho imo, closing range is very importent. And a persived 1v1 with your AB will usually turn out to not be a 1v1 when his frind warps in and kites your slow ass AB speed ;) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really, nothing that a bit of cheap faction/deadspace gear won't fix. As you get to pick your fights it's not that insane to pour a bit of money in it. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

The pilgrim doesn't gain range bonuses like the curse, so hoping to stay out of scram when you fly inside 12km neut range seems a bit optimistic, and once you are inside, you are staying there till the fight is decided, or the guy(s) with points on you are capped out, I would think?
The pilgrim engages from cloak, unless you decloak during warp to minimise warning while avoiding the targeting delay, so closing range on your initial target shouldn't be the problem, but I agree that the curses ability to engage at range so as to retain the mwd to escape is useful, as you don't get local warning you a friend has joined the system. Again, thats more a difference between the ships, rather than a fitting choice of either though.

Pilgrim for WHs and killing mission runners, Curse for everything else. Pilgrim needs faction or best-named mods to get a good fit on it with Recon 4, but it's doable. Forget a probe launcher though.

WH Raiding, Pilgrim. Folks start running when they see a Curse on scan.
And you can work out a stable Pilgrim fit with Recons IV. Recons V only allows you to squeeze in a Probe Launcher.
Also, fit two mediums and one small in the highs. No nosferatus, please, and a 1600mm in the lows. 800mm Pilgrims die to t1 cruisers. ________________________________________ .

Go for the curse definately.
Dont' be tempted to fit anything but speed though. Quite often you will be a higher primary choice than ECM so you HAVE to be able to dictate range more than anything else.
Amazing ship.

Edited by: Mei Khlolov on 23/10/2009 14:54:33 What I've gathered so far is that I should get...both! So I probably will, my wallet just needs a little boost first.
I reworked that pilgrim fit with some advice here, hows it look?
[Pilgrim, 0.0/WH hunter] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Adaptive Nano Plating II Damage Control II Medium Armor Repairer II
Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator 10MN MicroWarpdrive I Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800 Initiated Harmonic Warp Scrambler I
Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Small Energy Neutralizer II Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Ancillary Current Router I Trimark Armor Pump I
Hammerhead II x5 Warrior II x5
edit: changed fit slightly

What sort of gang will you be flying with? Or solo?
Both sounds like a smart idea in either case :)

Probably half the time I'll fly solo, and half I'll have bombers and other recons with me.
