When fighting other Intys which one would you generally pick as best choice?
I think top in list are: 1. Crusader 2. Crow 3. Taranis 4. Claw
than the more tackler like intys? I also considered the Stiletto with tracking disruptor or sensor damp in mids + artys. Not sure if this could work though as its slower than crusader or claw for example and thus cant dictate range that well... thoughts?

Stiletto and damps? No.
Taranis is the best dog-fighter, Crusader and Claw are both good.
Crow is utter trash. _________________________

Edited by: Omara Otawan on 24/10/2009 18:30:24 If you ask me, taranis is a good ship but way overrated, crusader definitely is top dog.
Crow isnt as bad as people make it out to be, but its not that great against other combat interceptors. Still it got that extra midslot for web / tracking disruptor (which crusaders and claws hate to get hit with). Works with both blasters (rest of slots rockets) and light missiles.
Claw is a good one if you like to bum-rush things with ACs, or slowly grind them down from a distance with arty (you might want to rig for lockrange in that case).
Edit: for the stiletto, try a fit with medium shield extender and TD if you wanna dogfight.

rails ranis would **** the face off of any of your choices. a ranis is hands down the single best dogfighting boat out there, with mad damage and good range with the proper intykiller fit using rails. it would wreck a crusader. wreck it. happily being blown to shreds in the name of pvp experience, sincerely, Ty. |

1. Crusader 1.1. Taranis 2. Claw
The rest are mobile loot.
I fly a Crusader, a lot. I've flown the Taranis a lot and, back when I didn't know any better, I flew a Crow. Now the 'sader isn't quite the ship it was before they stack nerfed locus rigs but it is still THE premier combat interceptor.
If I fight a blaster-ranis, I'm careful to stay out of scram range. Rail-ranis WOULD be trickier, but he only wins if he fits a TD, otherwise I have better tracking and more firepower (as well as better speed and agility; sure he's tougher, but that doesn't cover the gap). A Claw is treated much like a blaster-ranis, only faster (and therefore trickier) unless he's insane enough to fit arties in which case he's toast.
Crows just die horribly and the others usually run unless they're about to drop buddies on you.
A well flown, well fitted Crusader gives you options. The 'ranis is good, very good, but it's a much riskier ship to fly. Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |
