I hear about vagacanes which I assume are hurricanes seutp to go as fast as vagabonds. What's the fit?

Edited by: NoNah on 27/10/2009 19:40:21 It's not.
It's a AC fit hurricane with shield buffer and a reliance on speed and distance. It's flown similiar to the vaga. Go through the first two pages here and look especially for threads about solofits or use eve-search.com, battleclinic.com or evelocal.com and you'll find plenty of setups. Parrots, commence!

That was funny. Nonah said "No" and then went on to give the long answer for "yes".

No, he answered appropriately. The vagacane doesn't go as fast as a Vaga. It doesn't have the disengagement power of a Vaga, etc. All you can really say about it is that it's flown similarly to a Vaga.
But I tend to fly mine like an overpriced Brutix.

Edited by: Removal Tool on 28/10/2009 00:11:44 Well sure that's obvious, isn't it. A BC isn't going to be as fast as a HAC even if setup similarly.
I didn't take the OP's question literally but instead as "is a nanocane basically an an over-sized Vaga?".
And on top of that, I like cheese.

Harbibond? Vagabinger sounds a bit like a disease of the nether-regions. (Which may be appropriate.)

If you are planning to fly it like a shield brutix, drop some of the ambits for cdfe and maybe the point to a scram.

Because when that interceptor/Assault Frigate puts the scram on you, it is your best chance to taking him out quickly.
Besides when orbiting at 20km you are outside of the HAM range anyway.

What exactly would you take on with a "Vagacane"? You don't have the shield resists, falloff bonus, or speed of a vaga, which in my mind a least eliminates most if not all targets a Vaga would go after.

Maybe you want to roll with a HAC gang. ===

now.. taking into account the incomming changes to fallof stacking and ac tiering falloff. You will get better fallof and damage by dropping 2 falloff rigs and scaling up the weapons to 425mm. Then you put polycarbons and drop a nano for a track enhancer.
New improved vagacane...

Its more of a gang setup than solo pwnmobile. But basicly you can attack just about anything. Overheating mwd it flies over 2km/s its pretty easy to disengage

Thats pretty fail dude.
Why do you even have the nanos on of you are going inside web and scram range???? Better use a HAM Drake for this, as its superior in alway for the same task with this kind of fit.
You want to actually keep range... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And why you need medium nos or neut?

Yes, the fit is good. When your being neuted a med Nos is golden :). I know that it runs pretty long when your not MWD'ing. And i would bet that your skills are better than mine ;).
But well, i'm very scared of Neuts, probably to scared :).... Not probably, i am to scared of Neuts and therefore feel something missing on every Frig/Cruiser/BC whiteout a Nos ^^.

Well, i¦ve only been neuted and killed once, and that was me being stupid engaging a domi on a station
I do get neuted by canes, vaga¦s and ishtars, but in a 1 vs 1, the ECM drones really shine.

I guess it depends what gang you run with, but I've gotten a lot of kills with a shield buffered artillery cane... ~~~

I think I got about ~170 kills or so in it, and about ~30 solo, lost one (clonejumped out of my 5%/5% and could not gank a tackling sac in time, meh). It indeed does better DPS at range, but lacks "get in close for extra DPS" option. Definitely my preferred setup by far in gangs over 4-5 DPS ships.
