On the test server now you can anchor a FLAG near a POS. I thought you were only supposed to be able to anchor them at a planet. Can you anchor them anywhere, like in the middle of space if you want? ----------------------------------------------------

someone reported being able to deploy them inside a pos shiled must be bugged Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

You are mixing the infrastructure hubs with FLAGs. FLAGs can be anchored anywhere, infrahubs only at planets.

Correct FLAGs can be anchored anywhere, while Hubs can only be anchored at the warp in of a planet.
You can not anchor a FLAG within a pos shields, IIRC it has to be a min of 50km from the pos, but that might change between now and release.

100km seems a reasonable distance Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Really doesn't matter considering FLAGs and STOPs appear on the overview and are warpable. On another note, I also have an annoying sig.

yes most likley how about allowing us to plant them in deep safespots and then have them show in system as warp to objects Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Edited by: Chiyoko sama on 30/10/2009 20:17:16 A FLAG may be anchored at least 55km from a POS. Since this is similar in position to a Cyno-Jammmer or Jump bridge, this permits a POS to be deployed to defend the FLAG in a similar manner.
However, due to the interaction of the older POS rule-set and the new FLAG rule-set, the POS must be anchored first. If the FLAG is anchored first, then the POS will not be anchor-able.
With how these rule-sets interact as of today, to replace/upgrade/anchor a POS with a FLAG at a Moon, all sov must be lost first. Then a defending POS anchored. Then the FLAG re-anchored.
What is the behavior suppose to be regarding POS anchoring with a FLAG present?
What role are POS suppose to play in defending FLAGs?

I wonder how many people will try and anchor those inside the bumping area of planets and suns. -------- Ideas for: Mining

yes ccp if planets are going 3d then at least make it so u cant deploy the things inside planets-suns,shields etc etc Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

1) You can anchor more than one FLAG in a system. 2) The same role they play for protecting a JB or cyno jammer today. - In essence, any combat related activity involving damage has been 'speed nerfed' to just take 6 times longer with a predetermined outcome coined balance by CCP. |

Get in your cov-ops.....cloak and fly to the safespot....pop cyno.
Watch as a Titan bridge delivers hundreds into the system with any defense multiple warps away.

Heh.
And even if it was, all you're doing is giving any hostile in system a free deep-safe that will take you hours to probe him out of.

Deep safes are not gonna help, just using up a deep safe to do that. POS is probably best for FLAGs.
When Dust comes along, maybe there will be other additional planet things too, so who knows for Hubs, right now they're just kinda there at a planet.
Anyone tried anchoring one off the grid of a planet warp-to spot yet?

Ultradeep safes were classed exploit a while ago. You know those from the old times that were more than 1000 AU away from the starsystem. Not sure as I have not cheked, but I have vague memory that bookmarks leading there were also removed from your people & places a while ago.
