FFS, fit a tank (as much of one as a hulk can handle), zoom out away from your lasers (so it's not crazy loud) and semi-afk mine. If you get targeted you'll hear it. The one and only time someone tried to hulk-gank me they failed. Not by much, but the loot from their fail-fit battleship more than made up for the repairs.

If its not suicide gankers , its ninja salvagers or its ore stealer's. Look where ore stealing got you. The carebears cried out for a change in mechanics so that they could keep on lazy jet can mining. When the change finally came it was celebrated on forums, pirates and ore stealer's where mocked and the same argument "blame yourselfs" was thrown around. However many carebear tears ensued with what is today called can flipping mechanics. You keep whining of how things are and what needs to get changed and we keep enjoying the game for what it is and adapt to whatever comes along. And fact is the miners have all the mechanics they need to be 100% safe from suicide ganking. Its called align and warp out. Its not our fault ppl enjoy afk online and wants that experience to be totally safe. Its laziness. Why should CCP make changes cause ppl are to lazy, stupid or even afk to act to save themselves? So it is my (limited) experience that HighSec it pretty damn safe. I will probably be doing some runs into LowSec here soon and expect to get blown up and that is just fine by me. I was attracted to EVE because is is NOT totally safe. I like the danger and I am willing to bet the majority of EVE players feel the same way. If I wanted safe and cozy would be playing Hello Kitty On-Line. I have an Alt that will probably be turning to the Dark Side so Hulkageddon II sounds intriguing to me.

Any miner who aligned, checked local/d-scanner occasionally or even just warped off whenever something hit grid couldn't have been caught even by an inty. No one did. On a couple of our early runs (we aren't really a pirate corp...), we'd even sit there with 4 dessies, waiting on the stragglers ( didn't know it would take so few!) orbiting the target at 1000, locked, sometimes for a couple whole mins. No one ever warped, aligned (OK, one guy aligned, and, he got away!), or even asked "wtf" in local. They just sat there.... Then went boom....
