When I run EVE on my desktop PC, the colors seem much more accurate than when I use my 13" MacBook Pro. The MBP looks like the blue has been dialed down. I tried switching to Generic RGB, and that helped a little, but nothing looks as good as the PC. Anyone else notice this? What settings should I be using? |

you are going to need to Calibrate your monitor.. up the Gamma a bit, and mess with the White point, to tell the truth the Color settings on the Mac are truer than the ones on most PCs. Eve models are made on a Windows, so you need to adjust to the Windows settings.

Technically if you are looking for color accuracy you need to run your screen at 5000-5500 kelvin and use a reputable color management system.
There are a few decent consumer level calibrators out there from Gretag Mcbeth such as the iOne Pro that are good. For better profiling and good calibrator for the cash Pantone "Colormunki Photo" or Colormunki Design" will make a huge difference, and have great features and software to boot.
In general though the Mac books LCD screen does not have the capability to produce anything more than the basics visual for color management unfortunately. Not until the recent release of the latest iMacs and the older 20" LCD produced by apple, can you achieve decent color in the smaller sRGB color gamut, Apple still does not produce a monitor that has color accuracy in the larger Adobe RGB gamut.
all that being said...go through the manual color settings for your display preferences and you should achieve a usable balance. though the 5000-5500 may seem a bit yellow at first, your eyes will adjust to the accuracy. Many people just like the brighter 6500+ which start leaning towards blue hue.
I could ramble on for hours about this topic, but as said pick up a inexpensive calibrator and your issues will disappear with the profile it will create.

I just noticed that my character portrait in this forum looks the same on my mac as it does on my pc and as it does when running the pc EVE client. It's only when running the mac EVE client that it looks washed out. Interesting. |

Yeah, it's a bug specifically with the portraits. It happens to a fair number of people. |
