So as I was roaming the depths of Molden Heath lowsec in my Brutix a few weeks ago, I came across some targets in a belt in a dead-end solar system. Outnumbered and outclassed, I was still able to achieve victory. And that was all there was to it til last week, just a good fight.
Upon my glorious return to the cesspit which is Molden Heath last week, I decided I needed a good target for a war dec. Looking back on that fight, I decided GalOre Industries looked like a fun target. 82 member corp, and considerably cheaper than war deccing an alliance, it seems like an ideal target, and judging from the lowsec fight of a few weeks ago, it would be fun.
Upon declaring war on Gal0re, I was contacted by a 3rd party who was also at war with them. The 3rd party gave me some useful information for my campaign, and also provided me with a link to their website where they had apparently made a few smacktalking "News Articles" declaring their war against the 3rd party as a complete victory for their "capable commanders" because of a few frigate kills and a t1 battlecruiser kill. I had a chuckle at it, posted my thoughts (and promptly got banned from further posting), and moved on to the war at hand.
The first couple days of the war were really quite boring. I would find a couple of war targets, they would either stay docked or run around uncatchable in t1 frigs or shuttles. There really wasn't anything going on, thus my exploits versus SEALS and EDGE alliance.
Then they formed HELM Alliance, which my initial assumption was they were trying to drive up the cost of deccing them, but on the 2nd day they had a few other corps join them, Children of Anarchy, Novus Spiritus, and Scorpion cor. My super chill brosef corpmate Jeron Kahyar and I were anxious to angage these new arrivals, hoping they would be more entertaining than the rather lame and inept GalOre pilots we had encountered thus far. Having actually killed a failfit Tengu belonging to Novus Spiritus just hours before they joined HELM alliance our hopes were high.
Upon returning to Teonusude Jeron came to a startling discovery. The Tengu pilot was back, and in another Tengu! He was flying with a Dominix wingman and there was 3 other war targets in system though, so a quick gank was out of the question. We quickly scrambled to engage. Jeron had to switch ships and I had to travel from Sakulda, so immediate engagement was not possible. The hostiles followed Jeron to the station, which cleared the way for me to come through the gate into Teonusude. Upon reshipping we were ready to go.
After 15-20 minutes of trying to bait them into engagement, The Tengu refused to engage, staying in dock range, while the hostile Dominix didn't undock at all. These guys weren't doing anything other than trying to keep us interested for some trap they were undoubtedly about to spring, and we were fine with that. Traps are generally quite fun. Finally something happened as I was able to get a Raven which had killrights on me engaged my Megathron outside station (unknown to us at this time, the corporation which the Raven pilot belonged would be in HELM alliance within a few hours). Ever the opportunists, our war targets chose this moment to engage, undocking their Dominix. Jeron then undocked his Dominix and remote repped me against the onslaught of 2 very angry battleships. The Raven was quickly dispatched by my Megathron, and Jeron and I started going to town on the War Target Dominix. Unsurprisingly, an EDGE Alliance Dominix immediately began flashing red as the neutral RR began. We were able to power through the RR and drop the 850m Isk HELM Dominix, but then had to deagress and dock as I had deep hull damage on my Megathron and Jeron was low on cap boosters.
There were now 7 war targets in local, so we decided to reship once again into a pair of cap-transfer RR Neutralizer Domis before going back out to engage. Upon undocking we found a war target Dominix and Tengu, along with the neutral EDGE Alliance RR Dominix. We decided to try and gank the Tengu, since it's active tank would fall to our neutralizers and the EDGE Domi was only transferring armor. The Tengu tanked us alright for a bit, but then our neutralizers began to take effect and it's tank started to fail.
Then it began.
Neutral Osprey.
Neutral Osprey.
Neutral Exequror.
Neutral Typhoon.
Neutral Abaddon.
We now had 4 WTs shooting at us and FIVE neutral remote reppers. The Tengu briefly dipped into armor before the 5 RRers got hold of it. It was a stalemate, we couldn't kill them for their 5 neutral RRers, and they couldn't fit their 4 ships properly to break through the RR from one Dominix.
Eventually we had to dock to reload cap boosters and come up with some strategy for beating 9 guys using just 2 ships. We decided that since they didn't actually have enough DPS to break us, we could pull the fight off of the station so that their neutral RR couldn't just dock as soon as it got shot. We managed to get a warp-in on one of the EDGE Domis in a safe 200km off the station and decided to go for it. Unfortunately this turned out to be a pretty bad idea. We were able to kill a 80m ISK neutral Exequror, and force one of the Ospreys off, but the original Raven pilot who had killrights on me came back (still with killrights on me) in a Scorpion and was able to jam our RR, while the Tengu pilot swapped out for a Torp CNR and was able to add some DPS to the equation. Eventually my Dominix fell (after absorbing 255,544 damage). Jeron was somehow able to escape.
At this point there was nothing to do but wait. Thankfully the neutral RR was actually neutrals, not alts of the corp we were at war with, so all we had to do was wait for them to get bored and leave, then we could try again. We both went and had dinner and came back. None of the neutral RRers was in local anymore, so we decided to give it one last go before logging for the night. Upon undocking we found ourselves facing 3 Scorpions, a Rook, a Raven, and a CNR. Deciding we wanted no part of that in our current fits we redocked. We refit our Domis to be ECCM heavy and went back out to engage. We managed to kill the Rook before being permajammed and forced to dock. We then decided to call it a night.
Total kills versus HELM Alliance (This includes kills against corps before they actually formed the alliance):
Rifter, Thorax, Hurricane, Thorax, Hound, Purifier, Tengu, Raven, Dominix, Bellicose, Enyo, Rook
Total Losses versus HELM Alliance:
Dominix
After so clearly being demolished, you would think that these guys would be a little bit humbled. However, they felt the need to once again post a pretty hilarious "News Article" on their corporate forum. ALEKSEYEV KARRDE FOR CSM |

Update: I just fought 2x Hurricane, Scorpion, Hyperion, and Neutral Osprey in my Megathron. I killed 1 Hurricane and was able to dock before they killed me. They will without fail manage to somehow spin it as a victory, probably because I'll have to repair my armor at some point. ALEKSEYEV KARRDE FOR CSM |

Also, you should probably teach Lady Spank a thing or 10 about PvP. :| _________________________

Dear Lexa,
The Ninja Alliance killboard and forums where the rough guide was posted have been dead for some time. I wonder what is going on there.
Please to examine the screenies to be found here. It's not the best guide that's for sure. This is for grabbing any old mission runner or easy target in system.
You need one that starts with the direction scanner for more speedy war target probings.
I'd find you better but I can't right now.
Regards,
The Lady.

This "fight" took place outside a station where my corpmate Alvachi was camped in by a 12 man Galore gang. Since he didn't have anything better to do he undocked his only ship that would tank all of them - his moros. He never went into siege, just sat there zapping them with sentry drones and his guns (they didn't move). Here is the result: Engagement page

When one achieves the objectives one has defined then one has achieved victory.
How others, and opponents, try to define HELM and GalOre victories is irrelevant. There is more to New Eden warfare than killmails.
We're cleaning up "the cesspit"; it's why you were destroyed.

If your objective was to lose billions of isk to kill a single T2 fit Battleship, then I guess you achieved victory. Please be victorious more often.... You'll be doing your opponants a service
