Edited by: Kaladr on 04/11/2009 09:29:43 I finally managed to cobble together enough time to couple libevecache, the open source cache reading library, with the EVE-Central.com uploader (the original Python edition). The new uploader is called Contribtastic, and has had its first alpha-level quality release today.
The uploader runs, functions, comes pre-packaged for Windows (only tested on Windows 7), and appears to not have any glaring issues when looking at the core functionality of scraping cache files and uploading their contents.
Note that there are obvious missing features. I would suggest you read the errata as published here: http://yannramin.com/2009/11/04/contribtastic-2-0-alpha-1-upload-to-eve-central-via-cache-files/
You can also directly download it from here: http://dl.stackfoundry.org/contribtastic/
The source code is available at: http://gitorious.org/contribtastic
Enjoy!

We're adding love at every corner Plus with the live upload dissemination mechanism and open source everything we're making sure it stays around even if I don't (no plans of that, but stuff happens). ---- EVE-Central.com - Your EVE economic and corporate site, featuring the inter-region market browser |

So....basically it runs in the background gathering cache data from the client, and updates Eve-Central?
Nice.

Installed under XP just fine. On run it generates the following:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "uploader.py", line 19, in <module> File "evec_upload\main.pyo", line 19, in <module> File "evec_upload\upload.pyo", line 32, in <module> File "evec_upload\config.pyo", line 25, in <module> File "win32com\__init__.pyo", line 5, in <module> File "win32api.pyo", line 12, in <module> File "win32api.pyo", line 10, in __load ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified procedure could not be found.
Is there any other debug I can do?

Solved it. Delete POWRPROF.dll (in the same directory as uploader.exe) if you have the same error as I did and it'll work fine. Apparently WinXP uses a different version of that file and having a newer one causes problems.

Took a while to find the right cache folder. I've set it to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\219\CachedMethodCalls and it finds things to upload but crashes after "Uploaded 23709" and the bug report says:
AppName: uploader.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: evecache.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000aaef

Your crash is unique so far, and likely a libevecache problem. Unfortunately, short of sending me your whole CachedMethodCalls folder its somewhat hard to remotely debug. You can try shutting down the EVE client, wiping CachedMethodCalls, and launch the EVE client again, which should fix it until the "different" cache file gets generated again.

This does make it highly attractive over EVE-Metrics. EVE-Metrics is great, but EVE-Central is more known and used, and now with this updated client will make it king once again..

I have identified the crashing issue in libevecache, and will build a new Contribtastic installer later tonight with this fix and others. Thank you for supplying your cache folders with the crashing issue!

Alpha3 is now available, and fixes several known issues. The primary fix (in libevecache) prevents crashing on certain cache files. ---- EVE-Central.com - Your EVE economic and corporate site, featuring the inter-region market browser |

We're adding the capability to export a local CSV every time a server update is made. Its trivial to implement, just not done yet. ---- EVE-Central.com - Your EVE economic and corporate site, featuring the inter-region market browser |

How about spewing the dump over the network to a server instead of to a file? Or, in addition to the file.

EVE-Central can already do this for you via the SMTP push option. If you're thinking of another protocol, let us know. ---- EVE-Central.com - Your EVE economic and corporate site, featuring the inter-region market browser |

I only want my uploads, not all of them from everyone.
I think I can read python well enough to see that you are POSTing in the perform_upload function (method?). I'm looking for a box in the settings dialog where I can enter a URL to have perform_upload repeat the upload to. |

I run several instances of EVE (up to 4 accounts at one time) under Windows 7. Is there a way (possibly within a shortcut) to point directly to the cache file? It's different for each instance; starting Contribtastic, then navigating to the right file for each instance takes quite a while (x4 !). I've done this and it works. But if I could set up 4 bookmarks, one per toon (as I have for starting EVE), I'd only need to update them after each EVE patch.
With this capability, I could create a .cmd file for each EVE invocation and start EVE-online and Contribtastic for each toon simultaneously and automagically ...

Eve-Metrics also has a market log uploader.... On another note, I also have an annoying sig.
