Hey guys, After seeing some people here (dont remember atm who) enjoying Fallen Earth, and a close friend of mine trying it too, I decided to check it out, bought it off steam, downloaded and well ... these last 2 weeks have been a blast.
For a game barely over a month old, I must say I'm impressed.
It's not everybodys cup of tea, haven't tried pvp yet, but PVE is fun, the point system is awesome, since it lets you define your char as you go, instead of fixing you in a class, and the background setting of a post apocalyptic world is a fresh start from the jaded elves and paladins and magic out there.
Was wondering who here plays it and for those that havent tried it I highly reccomend it. <tip: if you buy it from Icarus or D2D you get a spiffy vehicle/mount> , I got squat from Steam, since the promo shirts where mostly awarded for pre ordering and not regular buy.
Nothing beats the feeling of riding your horse into the sunset through the wasteland, passing by the ruins of civilization. (can't wait to get my bike)
Yeh I'm an ebil fanboi. shame on me
Good thing Black Ops 5 is taking a while

They just did a Halloween special trial offer. They had a couple thousand 2 week trial offers along with the zombie hunt event.
Oh yes, I've got my zombie pump action shotgun baby. And yes, this game has voided everything else in my life./

Watched a friend play it some, purple ground doesn't do it for me, I guess I'm not that in touch with my feminine side.
What new and revolutionary aspects did it bring to the grind MMO?
It certainly doesn't qualify as a FPS type deal since the shooting, aiming and just about everything ballistic was offputting.
Should/would/could have, HAVE you chav!

Purple ground? I think your friend needs to get his video card checked out.
Granted I had a purple sky but that was a graphic glitch that lasted for about 10 seconds.

Edited by: Danton Marcellus on 04/11/2009 22:52:21 He insisted it was gray, I said it was purple, it was creative enough to put me off regardless.
I just hate the color purple with a vengeance.

WTH ... Purple??? You on drugs or have some strange form of daltonism?
All I have seen is bunker underground like tiles, open desert type terrain and the occasional green patch of earth with grass on it, plus cracked asphalt. You sure it was Fallen Earth?
If you are looking for some kind of ground breaking mechanic that will make you jolt with ubergasms of sandvich taste mixed with weird purple loot bonanza trigger happy arcade like mmofpsrtsomglolwtfrpg sequences, I think that game will only exist deep in an utopian like daydream of yours.
As I said before, Fallen Earth is a FUN game, to me anyway, and like most thing these days, it's a matter of personal taste.
I just welcome a change of pace, a diff background story and the fact, as an avid skill based tabletop roleplaying game geek, I love the fact you can customize your char in a set of skills at your leisure, theoretically you could be a dual gun wielding, ak 47 soldier samurai with a deadly katana that projects beams of mutated energy that leech enemies health and ride a bike through the wasteland.
The most interesting thing to me is that customization factor and the open to all skill tree.
Yes, it has quests, mission grinding, kill x of this and plz omg kill x more of that, but I like char building, It forces me to focus on melee for instance on one char and dual wielding pistols on another for sheer curiosity factor, or I could go mix and match here and there. Up to you ...
And no, there's no purple ground in there Danton ---

Somebody tried to make a jack of all trades build, it wasn't pretty. I'm personally am doing a hybrid pistol/rifle build. The rifles are great at range and my dual .357's can clear groups at close range really quickly.
I think one of my favorite factors is that you don't get unlimited ammo like other range classes in other mmo's. Sure it can be a pain spending 20 minutes crafting 80 medium pistol rounds but I usually just set up a queue of 20 before I log for the night.
I also like the open ended decision on the 'class' thing although many will say that you really don't have that option because of capstones and such crap.

I believe the best hybrids builds are the ones that focus 60 to 75% of Ap's into a main combat style and rest into a second set/support.
Me? I went Full Melee/Armor ... and totally loving it. Ranged mobs I close in with dash and then snare or knockdown for the lulz as I dual machete them on the face , and I can usually tank 4 mobs no problem. Also, this is the first game I can dual wield machetes. That alone makes it worth it to me haha.
I have seen some pretty sick Rifle/shotgun guys around too, pistols I still have mixed opinions. About to leave S1 in two or three more levels, but Im completing all possible quests on all towns for the extra AP/xp
Whats your name there Micheal? Im brujoloco
People that complain about capstones and whatnot, fail to realize the game is made to reach level 140+ , and it only has what? barely over a month?
I just hope they keep polishing it and dont go NGE on it ... game is very good and fun as it is now ---

Damn, even you're passing me up. I'm slow. I've got a 18 so far and I'm currently hanging out at coppermine. And my guys name is Durty Harry. And yes I intentionally spelled it like that. It's cool though, I enjoy taking my time. Got a few more starter towns parallel to Kingman I've got to complete then I can hit up Pass Chris and watchtower.
Edit: Usually on Thursdays you'll find me passed out on a bunk or carseat while I craft. The rest of the week I go around doing missions.

doing a trial atm the game got alot of good features but alot of stupid made / balanced stuff and you get very little info on whats what and you might end up making a "gimped" char and have to reroll since theres no respecc of AP points, the crafting system works fine with a few glitches but overall solid. mounts are nice.. but pvp is utterly horrible atleast in Sector 1 its a few spots you can enter and get flagged then instantly get ****d by 3 guys, where one of them might be a max lvl 45 char just killing you so his 2 lowbie friends gets "deathtoll" points for you. pvp is badly balanced and a serious case of "bring more friends lolz" also alot of clipping / wall issues . get killed by a guy you cant hit but he can hit you and so on.
overall its a nice 2 week break from eve and it might be a good game later on when its polished more but now its just meh with all the stuff that annoys the player tbh
got a few days left of trial havent decided if i wanna sub it yet too much stupid stuff tbh

150 max lvl is planed for sector 10 but u can find lvl 150 NPC around 350 dmg per shoot w00t!!!
anyway the game is a theme park and is good to educate wow players before they get in game like eve/darkfall
also the economy is crap took them 3 weeks to fix the social skill issue, whit a good social skill u get low materials at 0 price from vendors i dont talk about things that like gathering stuff that require 1 scavenging skill drop that on clan vault and sell them whit social alter to NPC on diesel town and for a stack of 20 getting 3 blue again social skill on action
also we dont talk about ghost scouting in pvp and other crap |

Well Ceaon, its pretty obvious you hate the game
Me? Im loving it ... Yeah it has bugs and whatnot, honestly not there to PVP either , thats what I have eve for, Fallen Earth is just a fun game that Im loving to play to get me away from the tedium of generic mmos.
I dont know about you, but when was the last time you played?
Anyway you can find me in there happily grinding missions, besides, Id prefer if it stayed a small game, so it can grow slowly like eve in a single sharded universe, slowly killing away the bugs ... ---
