Does training Exhumers to Level 5 increase my cargo capacity in any way? If so, by how much? |

Generally only ice harvesters bother with Exhumers 5 for a Mackinaw, since it really is a lot to go through for 3% more ore on a Hulk.

Exhumers V is huge for Mercoxit miners as well... -----------------------------------
Originally by: Kali Zero Warp core stabilizers are like condoms. Nice and safe, but they make it a little less fun for everyone involved.

Yes, it increases your cargo by 10,000%, also adds inches to your johnson. CCP put this in effect without adding it to the description of the Exhumer skill itself, or any ship that utilizes the Exhumer skill just for a present to the people patient enough to train to level five.

Yes, RTFM.
However, I have read the Connections skill and would suggest that not every CCP skill description is sufficient to guess what the skill does. Nor was it initially obvious to me when reading the Caldari Cruiser skill description that it increases Osprey mining yield.

Yes, there are some vaguely described skills out there. But Exhumers aren't one of them. Generally speaking a ship get's a bonus or three, and then one or more of them ends with two magic words: "per level". T2 ships tend to get the bonus' of the ships they are based on, plus whatever T2 bonus their role gets. No Exhumer of any type, no Mining Barge of any type get a cargo bonus. The Mining Barge and the Exhumer skill do not imply any kind of bonus or increase of any type of statistic. They merely state it allows you to fly said group of ships.

Why exactly?

Basicly, because at the moment Arkonor is worth more isk per m3, and Mercoxit is much "harder" to mine (more skills, special equipment/ship) so "no one with a brain" will go through the trouble of mining it.

Mercoxit is cheaper equipment/ship to mine with so can be good for that reason if you already have the skills.

The cost difference of exhumers and their basic mining equipment is totally in-consequential if you are mining in nulsec, you'll make more than enough to pay for a hulk even using a covetor for 3 or 4 hours.
I've trained exhumers 5, it may seem like hard work for little gain but :perfection: Also remember that the additional 3% boost multiplies with every other bonus as well.
