Hi all,
I have read back a few pages and not seen a post on it so I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether the basic Outpost platform that you need to set up an outpost can be built at a POS or if it can only be built at an NPC station.
Many thanks,
Moira

I thought you just bought it from the NPC station. Then you freighter it to the planet and anchor it. Then you spend the next x days shuttling insane amounts of components and minerals to the "egg".

Its not nearly 60 bill, the one in I-N cost us like 20 something bill by the time it was filled and waiting for dt. and as far as im aware, it can be built in any station with manufacturing lines, if your in an outpost you can check the lines avaialbe and see if outpost construction platform is listed as one of the possible item types it can build. It cannot be built at a tower however, you have to do it in a station of some sort, though it doesn't have to be an npc one afaik. |

And how does this help me making a reply like this or does it make you feel good to put people in their place?

You make the mistaken assumption that the forums are here to help you. ----------------

Yep, there seems to be more keyboard ninjas and cyber warriors here than people with a genuine desire to help that's for certain.

And if I am not in over my head but just establishing the process? After all - does anyone know who my main is, how much ISK they have, what their building skills are and how large the corp and alliance I am in is and what their ISK making and material gathering capabilities are?

No we have no idea who your main is, but since you used an alt to ask this it would stand to reason that you are afraid of losing it because you can't protect it.

You're a great one for making assumptions and trying to put people in their place aren't you? Does it help your e-peen get bigger I wonder? After all, I see no other purpose for your taking part in this thread.

Btw this should be the direct answer your looking for, for your very first post. YES, you can build it at a POS but you really won't want to. Each part is 100,000m3 and usually require something like 45 freighters worth. You can build it in 0.0 or low sec, but it's easier to build it in empire and THEN move it to low sec. This part I'll list below is the part you want to do.
Just to throw a few facts out there and info here's how it basically goes.
1. Buy BPC or BPO for outpost. 2. Take to station that has the majority of parts in range for whatever outpost you want to build (factory for factory post, refining parts for refining, etc. etc) 3. Buy parts, move with freighter to NPC station with BPC continue until mind is mush or all parts are assembled. 4. Take all parts and click "build" Remember outpost construction requires anchoring 5 and outpost construction 1. 5. Wait 10 days or whatever it is, deliver 'egg' to hanger. 6. Move with freighter to low sec jump off point (DEAR LORD USE A SCOUT)
Next part, should be done soon as you have the egg cooking or a tiny bit before. 7. Gather all egg 'filler' into nearest outpost then move 'filler' into target system a day or two before deployment day. 8. Look at the mineral and construction block requirements they are the biggest m3 gobblers 9. Some items are a pita to find so make sure you can get them asap and into an outpost. 10. When you have all bits and pieces ready, get it all sorted and *debate* the idea of having a little bit more of some items incase.
Deployment 11. Take outpost egg to target location make sure it's 3 to 4 hours before DT. 12. Anchor egg, *MOST IMPORTANT PART NEXT* Now PASSWORD THE EGG SO PEOPLE CAN'T TAKE STUFF OUT. 13. Dump in all filler, this should take a while, not sure if frieghters can be used, if not use orca's and rorquals. 14. Make sure all filler is in and now protect it before DT. Make sure you add together the stacks since I *think* you can't "stack all" within the egg still. 15. Everyone sign in after DT and look at pretty outpost.
There you go, that's about everything but please check eve resource threads they state all this stuff pretty well and even have graphs and links to more detailed info.

Honestly the best way to really get the hang of putting a station down is doing it on sisi first.
Get some sov on sisi do all the bits in one of the posts above so you know exactly what you need and how much space it will take etc then once you have done it on sisi and then do it on TQ.
Oh as for moving it from highsec to 0.0 the best way is to get a friendly Titan pilot to bridge you into the system you need, if you don't have a friendly Titan then good luck moving it through gates

That is a darned good idea, thanks for that.
I was not much of one for the test server as I used to have issues in the past patching it but I now see they have autoupdaters for the test server too.
Will give it a go and test out the process thoroughly before my alliance sees if/when we want to go this route.
