Hello fellows eve players.
I'm an old noob :P and have never played beyond lvl 2 missions. Now i would like to know, what is the best Minmatar BC for lvl3s ? I'm leaning towards the hurricane for the firepower, but the cyclone looks like it could have an evil shield tank. Please help a indesicive noob.

cyclone for style points imo. keep AB on all the time and burst shield booster when neccessary.

I use the 'Arty-Cane' as well, only I went with the armor tank.

Most, missions never even break the shields, but if they due the i can perma run everything. I have only had to warp out a couple of times. Make sure you have some drones to take care of the frigs that get under your guns, cause it is bloody difficult to kill them with the arts.

Oh i will and thanks... But does the Target painter you have on also helps the artys? Thought the targetpainter only helps missilse.

Target Painter increases the target's signature radius. Missiles, turrets and drones all benefit from the increase.

It helps everything in theory. Drones are helped a bit, but only medium and heavies get a real benefit from it, light drones have very high tracking and only 25m resolution, so they'll hit pretty much anything full dps without a painter.
The problem with the painter is it's cycle time, which makes it impractical for PVE. 650s cycle faster and will pop most targets you want to paint (frigs) with 3-4 shots, so you probably won't be able to make it count more than 1/4th of your shots or something like that. The slot is better spent on a tracking computer.

Either ship will do the job, but Cyclone is cheaper and easier to fit for pve.

If you drop out one or two of the damage mods from the lows and add shield power relays, it will also stand up to most level 4s with my current skills. If i had better shield skills and a little higher dps, it would do level 4s fine. you can find this fit if you google passive cane or passive hurricane. the original guy who put it up does level 4s in it. Its cap stable and once you turn on the hardeners, you don't need to do anything but target and kill.
low: gyro 2 tracking enhance 2 BCU 2 3 Shield Power Relays 2
mids: 2 x med shield extender 2 2 x shield hardeners (mission specific)
highs: 5 or 6 (your choice) 650mm arty (meta 4) 3 or 2 Assault Missile (meta 4)

I used to use a Maller for lvl 3's, but then that was before BC's were in the game .
I think you should try with a Rupture, will probably be a bit hard but more fun.

Ok ok, looked at your fit, fixed it up a bit, maxed out the fittings and you get this... 244 passive shield tanking. 433 dps with drones. Not a bad fit I guess.

Ummm, I'm not sure why you would do that, but thanks... I guess?
Now I can't remember if I have large or medium extenders, I'll check when I get home.
The assault missile launchers aren't there for massive DPS. Heavy missiles are great for taking out the big stuff, but level 3 missions don't have much in the way of big ships. The AMLs are for killing fast tacklers and other frigates. Thus the BCU 2 to make that a little easier/faster.
I can't use t2 artillery.
Looks like a good level 4 passive cane fit (assuming one is properly skilled up), though you might want to drop one or both of the gyros in favor of more shield relays. A lot depends on the user's skill levels. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of skill level vs exact EHP amounts. Plus i'm at work or i'd be all over EFT |
