Not only do Apple want to force people to watch ads - they want to put in little tests to make sure the user has actually watched and understood the ad.
Apple Patent
Seriously nuts. Thank god for free software.

The sad part is there would have been execs sitting around a table brainstorming and coming up with this. The sad part is that thanks to the iPod/Phone people would probably buy crap like this. At least we can be quite safe in assuming that 2 days prior to releae there'll be a modded firmware that removes all that garbage, adds extra funtionality and removes any restrictions. -------------

Ugh. How can they be serious about this? I would rather have viruses on my computer than have it infested with ads that I was forced to respond to. In fact, there's very little difference. I seriously doubt anyone would buy a computer on the cheap if it came with ads like Apple propose.

I'm not saying it's the case but think about this for one second...
...when is the one time you would actually be happy for a patent troll to rear it's head?
Think about it.

That wasn't quite what I had in mind but I was being too vague. I read something related to this a month or so ago that noted they may simply be filing the payment to be first and collect royalties on whoever implements it, unlikely admittedly.

Yeah, either that or as the article said, to beat Microsoft/Google to the punch _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
