Quite simply, I don't think anyone minds if you delay the expansion if it means that the end product will be better.

yes but I would mind if the only reason they hold it back for is the mothership.

Plenty of people would mind. Marketing/PR folk for instance that all the sudden get to deal with questions like "Where the **** is the product?!". Forum whiners that would complain if the expansion came out a day early (seriously, it'd be a threadnought). People who are bored and figure "Let's see what this 'New Topic' link does!".

Yes, lets hold it back for a small, vocal, minority.
Get over yourselves already.

Broken graphics, framerate problems, uncertainty about how the new Sov system works with small alliances staking out territory in two systems - there are problems with Dominion beyond the obvious Mothership/Supercarrier whaambulance brigade.
If Dominion was rolled out tomorrow, I'd have to stop playing simply because the new planet graphics are so broken (they drive the load on my processor up ten-fold). And yes, the graphics are really quite broken: layers of texture that are supposed to be on the planet end up going through a 90¦ rotation and turn into a dust ring around the planet, the atmosphere haze tears off the planet and does loop-the-loops, and some planets can't decide what texture they're supposed to be so the texture shimmies.
So I certainly have both feet on the "don't mind if they take their time to fix it before releasing it" side of the fence.

I have little hope for this expansion even if they gave it a year of time to work on it. If Nozh's incredible lack of game mechanic knowledge is any indication of the skill level among developers, dominion will not be anything other than an abject failure. ---

Well if the only thing you have read about the new expansion are the SC threadnaughts you might get that idea. However the majority of players are actually excited about everything else that is being introduced and are quite happy with the devs in those areas. I know I and others in fw can't wait to go pew pew in an all navy fleet since they are so cheap for fw members. About the only bit of negativity past the SC debacle is theres still a bit of uncertaintly about the sov changes and especially the moon goo and production changes but thats normal for what will be such a huge change in the status quo.

This expansion is garbage. Just delay it, shatcan all this garbage and start from scratch. Seriously, I'd be ecstatic about a "patch" -- not expansion, just a single patch -- that nerfed DDs like they should've done years ago.
Besides that, what do we really have to look forward to? Everything else is all jacked up garbage that you know they'll end up reworking 10x over, all the while making us suffer through it in the mean time.

Sure people are perfectly happy with everything dominion has to offer. As long as you ignore the sov changes, supercap changes, moon changes, and assault frig changes. ---

Don't forget the haters who are happy with none of it and the fanbois who think its the best expansion evah even before the first dev blog or change on sisi. I'm sure there are also a few dozen other combinations I can't be arsed to spell out.

Yo CCP dudes: Like, instead of rolling the patch out like on time and all, why not just roll a blunt and be all like "Dudes, we're doing this all wrong" and then you can like pass the blunt around, and like we can just get the patch next year and all.
Cause I like heard from my bro g-dawggie-bag that like this patch sucks cause all the like really big ass ships that like used to be all super powerful and all suck now, so he says it would be major cool if you guys like chilled on it for a while.
I'll be like watching cheech and chong while I wait for your reply CCP dudes. Peace out. -bluntroller ---------------------------------

Okay, what we have in gameplay features?
Sov changes: still tons of unanswered questions and pretty sketchy mechanics
Capital and supercapital changes: tons of crap
Moon mineral changes: technetium disaster, some moon mineral bottlenecks becomming worse than dyspro bottleneck ever was
10 days until release ...
Yeah for excellency. LOL

The longer they keep the delicious veteran tears flowing the better. I just love watching the "ADAPT OR DIE!!!" fraternity crying their hearts out.
Delay Dominion, their tears fuel my laughter.
A personal thank you to the thousands of weak willed souls who mine and rat for the make benefit glorious 0.0 alliance leaders. Without your mindless dedication to whatever it is you think you strive for, they could not have those ships which are currently supplying endless tears for the tear bucket.
Now get back to your ratting. Eve needs another 251 Titans, and you're holding up the process. |

everything seems pretty good theres big changes to cov ops and other regular ships that havent been getting a mention yet.
00 capital changes needed ccp just need antoher 2-3 new classes
Dreads t2 dreads carriers supercarriers motherships titans
each with roles positives and negatives Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

This resembles the patch that introduced POS. Causing a lot of negativity back then and we all know that POS are still broken to this very day. So you can expect pretty much the same from current upcoming patch minus all the stuff they backpedaled on.
I don't mind that CCP doesn't listen to whining but not listening to good solid argumented reasoning is not recommendable.

Agreed, the aims to change so many things were too ambitious or so it appears.
Take another month or two and work it over, better then releasing something that isnt finished.
Paddling back on the mom/sc changes (the silly ones not the originial ones from Abathur) was a step in the right direction.
In my impression neither the sov system nor the moon goo overhaul or the capital ship changes as a whole are well thought out yet, take your time instead of giving us a faulty product, thank you.

Why is it every update the cry babies come out and moan. It will be fine as always, give it a few days to settle down after the patch and you will love it.
It is funny that most of the cry babies are the same people that tell "carebears" to adapt and stop being such big babies.

CCP have a great history of fixing bugs between Singularity and Tranquility, amirite?
This time, I'd prefer to have the final release candidate on Singularity for testing for at least a week before that exact release is set loose on Tranquility. Quality assurance, process control, all that kind of stuff comes to mind.

Edited by: Doctor Penguin on 21/11/2009 00:43:15 I am perfectly happy with pretty much everything in the patch. If Motherships have to wait two months or so for a 1.1 patch all to themselves then I'm okay with that.
Almost the entirety of the EVE community is happy with this patch. Only the Mothership pilots and some over-strung Sov holders are the ones whining.
