Hey, I just re-activated my EVE account after receiving an email from [email protected] that stated:
"Steam gamers that reactivate their EVE Online account on or before December 7th, 2009 will find a PLEX token already added to their account and waiting for them."
I re-activated my account, and I can't find the PLEX in-game anywhere... where would it be? The email looks legit, all images from the email come from the eveonline.com website ( http://www.eveonline.com/bitmaps/newsletters/reactivation/2009steam/ship.jpg ) and it goes straight to the subscription page.
Can anyone help? anyone else receive this offer? Or have i just been scammed :(
Thanks, Simon

I dont know much about this stuff, but do a security scan on your computer to be safe, if you have been scammed.

TBH, sounds like a scam to me.
CCP has no way of knowing whether or not your account was purchased through Steam - the clients are identical (and non-Stean based - they're treated as a external program by Steam), your account renewal does NOT go through Valve, etc. The ONLY things you get are electrnic delivery of a boxed-set CD key and a electronic gamecard key on a purchase.
I'd suggest PETITIONING, which is what you should ALWAYS do about such things - talking about it here does nothing.

Wrong. Steam has its purchase system, and when you buy eve through that, it has a chat with CCP saying "oh hai. Xyz bought an account off steam". OHGODS BELOW THIS LINE IS MY SIG !!!! SRSLY! I'd suggest heading to account management and check your subscription details once again - afaik the gametime/PLEX should've been added already. --

Steam buys/receives cd keys from CCP. CCP likely gives Steam a specific range of cd keys. Any one using a key from that range could only have bought/gotten it from Steam. Thus, CCP knows exactly which accounts were activated through Steam. They also know which were store bought, power of 2, Buddy Invite, website signup and whatever scheme they ran in the past.
Assuming 5 sets of 5 number/letter groups to make up the full CD key, with the 1st set denoting point of origin, gives 60+ million options to define the point of sale. Each point of sale would still have 36 to the power of 20 options for the rest of the code, that's a bigger number than all homo sapiens ever alive.
Fun fact: A lot of MW2 players got their game disabled because they bought CD-keys from a shady place. CD-Keys that were distributed to Asia, sold for (much lower) asian prices, and resold to the West. But the key itself denotes it's asian origin and hooking it up to a US/European (steam) account turned out to be less than smart.
