Hello outthere,
I've thought of it beeing a cool thing to have the ingame-map as a standalone-program, but as I'm not a coder myself I was rather thinking of CCP releasing it themselves
There's people who have begun to make such things, like this one here from TanxOr f.e. http://tanx0r.org/index.php?pg=2, but it doesn't show the full map and there's no route-planning integrated etc. However it fetaures all the basics like showing the true-sec, stations, belts and moons etc.
I've started some 2 years back to make the map in Flash -> http://www.robsinter.net/temp/index.htm, but there's no database backing it up and just showing some 0.0-outposts and minor stuff, that I integrated by hand.
So CCP, is this going to happen sometime, to have the map of New Eden as a HTML-version, with the ingame-functions such as route-planning, and general information on the systems? Like a combination of the TanxOr-maps and my Flash-map, with added route-planning as an icing of the cake?
This would be really cool to have.

You should also take a look at DOTLAN's EveMaps, if you haven't already.
With the new ingame browser that will be released in Dominion it will be possible to integrate route planning with the client. We will most likely see something like this in the future.

This is a decent one, I liked the old much better.

No offense there, but I'd rather like to see something offered from official side (e.g. CCP) then using something made by Goonswarm And the thing doesn't work anyways... just throws exceptions the moment you start the app.

Dotlan is not resembling the ingame EvE-map and it doesn't show the whole universe as a single map.
What I'm looking for is an offline-version of the ingame-map.

Too much stuff I don't need.
I just want a standalone EvE-map that looks and works like the ingame-map. I don't even need Jump-Drive-calculations or Statistics etc... just the ingame-map with all the system-informations like stations, belts etc and the basic route-planning.
I may think, that CCP can possibly extract the map from their client and make it a standalone-app... NO?

See, it's not that I've not tried myself to do something, but as I'm not a coder, I was only able to have the basic map with zoom and pan-functions. There's no database backing up my flash-map however, no more functionality then a rough overview with the 0.0-outposts added.

Say again?
And of course, there's also Ombey's maps, but you'll have to actually click on 'universe' there too.
The options you've been presented in the thread are excellent, and some are even 'endorsed' by CCP. Are you really suggesting they take time off bug fixes and expansions to replicate work that has already been done to an excellent standard? __________________________________________

http://evemap.battleclinic.com/ Enjoy
Does this download allways from battleclinic, or can I download the package and run it offline? Otherwise this is exactly what I was searching for.

No, Ombey's maps don't have the jump planner, but it does have an overview of the universe that gives you some basic info that you mentioned, so I thought it may be of some help, since you did have that as a feature you'd like.
Dotlan I linked so you could see there is a total universe map, and it does have a jump planner. I like it on Singularity because it works well in Moondoggie.
For Battleclinic's map, I just pulled the evemap.jnlp file (from Temp Folder) to my browser bookmark bar, and launch it from there.
And if you want to start the eye-rolling game, how about 'Google it for yourself '
Yeah, every single option mentioned here is on the first page of Google. How are you going to catch an attitude when you're the one whining because you're too lazy to type 6 letters

Update your .net framework, you require a min of 3.5. And the source is avaliable and edited by a fair few people - there is nothing harmful and the only network activity it does is to fetch data from the CCP API server. Think before you talk.

Used google... didn't find what I was searching for, as all of the mentioned tools don't meet my requirements.
evemap.battleclinic is good, but it's not usable offline. So it's not what I was asking for.

.net Framework is updated, that's not the problem. But I don't run 3rd-party-tools as admin f.e.
It could be whatever alliance involved... I don't like this thing to connect to the web. It has to run offline, which even the evemap.battleclinic-thingy doesn't provide therefore it's aswell out of the question.
I was asking for an offline-map that looks and feels like the ingame-map. I don't need sov-status, or whatever statistics there are. Just a map to have at a second screen to look plan routes, get a better overview over the possible routes etc, without needing to use the ingame-map, which isn't really feasible during a fight, you know.

EvE MapNG looks like your only option then.
Try blocking it with your firewall if it's bothering you that much.

I would, if I could actually, but I don't know how to code anything besides HTML, PHP and Actionscript.
But yeah, thanks for pointing out, that there isn't what I'm looking for so far and that's exactly why I'm asking for CCP to release their ingame-map as a standalone-tool.

I use the old version of Eve-Map that Chribba linked, but mine is older than the NG version.
I prefer it much and have it zipped here. All props go to the respective makers.

.NET not being updated is almost always the issue. It should be at 3.5 SP1, not vanilla 3.5. That said, I've heard a new release is coming out in January or so which should fix more issues people are having. Also, there shouldn't be any need to run it as admin, it doesn't need it unless you're running it from a protected directory.
Anyway, I'm a huge fan of it, and it looks like it's the closest thing to what you're looking for. As for a CCP developed one - it would be the first out-of-game Eve app they've developed, IIRC. I'd rather see them continue developing Eve itself anyway.
In any case, it's an app for goons by goons. So, be afraid of it if you wish. I'm not a dev for it BTW, just a fan.

What's your issue with it having to be online? If you are using it on a second screen while playing the game then you are online anyway, not quite sure why you would object to it.

Or use NG 2.0 Beta 2.
The "old version" aka 2.2 is dead. I will not support it under any circumstances. I killed it because it was becoming harder and harder to maintain.
NG is easier to maintain but since it's just me writing on it anymore progress is slow.

I tried using it, but when I ran the executable it just added the process to my system and didn't open the GUI. I could NOT close it under any circumstances; even using a high level process explorer. I had to reboot to get rid of all three instances of it.
