I have a 20 Int, 18 Per, 16 Will, Mem 26, Cha 8. I have all the Learning skills up to Adv 4 (Except Charisma, because truth be told, I have yet to see it be useful. It's up to basic level 2). I also have Basic Learning up to 5. I have +1 implants in Int, Will, and Memory, and a +3 Implant in Per. Sadly, I'd like to do combat, but I know that my low Will and Per will make that harder.
I have no idea what do for skills. There's basics I can do, like Engineering and Electronics, but for an Apoc-aspiring pilot I know nothing. I'd like to know what skills I should focus on to make my character usable, because my 502 Gunnery SP sure as hell is lovely... please don't skimp on the basic 'You'd have to be an idiot not to know this' stuff, I really would like to know. Thank you.

*points to the Apoc Aspiring part of my post* I'd prefer to fight if at all possible.

Well, as for what gunnery skills you need, that's pretty easy. You'll need them all. APOC is a laser boat so (from memory): Gunnery (to 5 no less) Small energy turret Medium energy Large energy Sharpshooter Rapid Firing Motion Prediction Surgical strike Controlled bursts Weapon upgrades Trajectory Analysis
Then you need your standard array of cap increasing skills (engineering) and repair skills (mechanic) for armour tanking.
Don't go flying a battleship before you have all those at 3 at least.

Edited by: Directive on 09/11/2004 09:07:33 All gunnery skills (except non-laser ones ofcourse), all engineering skills (could skimp the shield ones tho), all electronics skills (except EW if you don't want to, but getting them to lvl1 each doesn't really hurt), all mechanic skills, all Amarr spaceship command skills (might skip indies), pretty much all navigation skills...

18, 16 in percep and willpower isnt bad, but personally id train the memory skill to 5 then get the advanced skill for memory, train that and then train the other basic learning skills to V so you can get those 18,16 up to 22 and 20 respectively with the level 4 advanced learning skills. This should help alot with skill training.

I have everything but Charisma up to their Advanced 4.
I know eventually I want everything, but I don't know what to get first, what a reasonable goal is before a BS... I'm just confused.

Edited by: Andarvi on 09/11/2004 17:13:01 Well, I would say Large Energy Turrets to at least 1 is a must.. along with engineering and electronics to at least 4.. then repair system to 3 for a large repairer.. and energy grid upgrades to 2
But this I wouldn't reccomend going out with only these skills, you will be killed by a cruiser spawn.
Most if not all of the skills in the above posts to at least 3 is the mininmum reasonable to be fairly effective in a battleship

ok 1 everyone he has said he want's to pilot an apoc yet i don't fly one i know many people that do. first things you want to do is get frigate lvl 4 as well as spaceship command lvl 5? maybe 4, then get cruisers to lvl 4,but in between each spaceship command and amarr ship skill skill i would train up engineering skills ie engineering, energy grid upgrades(the one that improves cap recharge), energy management for more cap since apocs with lasers take up lots of cap. also for every lvl of amarr frigate make small energy turret skill same lvl, amarr cruiser-->medium energy turret, and cannot forget about gunnery skill that will need to be lvl 5 to use large lasers or any large guns for that matter, for armor tanking imporant ones to have are mechanic lvl 5 for more hull hp and also for tech 2 armor repairers, repair systems lvl 5 for tech 2 armor repairers, and hull upgrades lvl 5 for armor hardeners. other gunnery skills will greatly help tracking, range, damage, and cap use.

charisma isn't all that bad for training social skills, which you want to when/if you want to run missions. And of course for hitting on the cute eve-girls ;)

I would also recommend:
Whatever skill allows you to use a webifier (propulsion jamming?) and drones skills. Drones 5, drone interfacing 3, scout drones to 2 or 3 and heavy drones to like 2 or 3. Never underestimate the value of drones in a tight spot.
