Hi! I just wanted to ask if there is a reason Covert Cynos isn't allowed in Deadspace missions, or even by the gate leading in to a mission.
I can understand that you wouldn't want regular Cynos there, since bringing Capital ships in to missions might be a bit over the top, but as far as I can tell Black Ops are an allowed shiptype in every kind of mission, even in Level 1's via "regular" means of travel, so why restrict the Covert Cyno / Jumpdrive / Jumpbridge?
Is it perhaps a coding issue, or is it something that just is overlooked?

Because covert cynos can be lit from a T2 frig, which would allow recons and BO to bypass a gates hull class restriction. Bypassing the gate restriction even by "regular" means is not allowed.

Read the OP again, he's talking about missions where you can warp the Black Ops in through the acceleration gate.

No, there are plenty of missions where you wouldn't be allowed to bring a BS-class ship, especially at the lower mission levels. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

The kind, class, or specific mission itself is irrelevant since there are only 2 types of deadspace ("regular" mission deadspace, and FW MWD capable deadspace)There can be multiple gates leading into a specific deadspace pocket, all with different class or key restrictions.
The cyno bypasses the gate, and thus bypasses the restriction because the gate is the restriction, not the mission or the pocket.

Edited by: Cainam on 29/11/2009 12:58:53 Ok, maybe I was a bit fuzzy - let me explain:
- You are today not allowed to covert-cyno any Black Ops in to any mission.
My question is; Why am I not allowed to cyno in a Black Ops to a deadspace where a T2 Battleship-hull is allowed. (which happen to be afaik every non-FW mission)
Part two of the question is; if I'm not allowed to bypass the gate via Jumpdrive and jump straight in to the mission, why aren't I allowed to light the cyno and travel to the Deadspace acceleration gate via means of Jumpdrive?

Again: there are plenty of missions where they aren't allowed.

Because it's simpler to just say "deadspace = no jumping" and get it over with, since if that's what you want, you can just warp there normally (or jump in and then warp, if need be). ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |
