Hey guys
Remember back in the day you could download the eve client, pop in on a CD and install it on any PC? How do I do that now a days? Do I have to Download the whole thing everytime I need to play eve on a new PC?
Can any1 help me with this. It really sucks to have to downlaod the whole thing everytime. Where I come from we have to pay for bandwith, unlike UK and such where its unlimited cap.
So to do this everytime is costing me a fortune.
Please help

1. Download the install file, 2. Burn it to a DVD 3. Use it to install client 4. ??? 5. Profit!
Of course you need to download the latest patch but that's how MMO's are.

so what's preventing you from burning it to a dvd exactly?
That said, if you don't have access to a dvd burner, sucks to be you i guess, you'll indeed have to redownload it on every pc you want to install it to, Don't know how you expect people to help you tbh. ------------------------- I'm not shirtless damnit! |

DVD = New CDs A 4GB+ USB thumbstick would work, or if someone you know has an mp3 player with enough space that isn't filled that could be used as well.
You could also use something like winrar and split it up so it would fit on 3-4 CDs.

Unfortunately yes you do. The last CD release of EVE was with the Apocrypha expansion, but after today, you'll need to download another 500 MB of content coming with this new expansion.
If you need to keep installing on a new PC, then try copying your client onto a pen drive then installing it on the new machine. That will prevent you need to download the client everytime.

Just a thought...
You could use the offline download and save it to a flash drive.

EVE Online requires d3dx9_35.dll and d3dx9_41.dll to be placed in C:\WINDOWS\system32.

When you download the patch, just make sure you deselect the "clean up install files" and you should be able to pull those updates off the one system and copy them over to your other PC's. I do not know the directory that the files dump into prior to execution, but you can keep them from being cleaned off after the patch gets applied.
Hope that helps.

You can simply rerun dxsetup in EVE\bin\DirectX\. That should take care of it.
The easiest way to take EVE whereever you go is to copy it to usbstick/pendrive/thumbdrive, whatever they are called where you're coming from.
edit: hey, CCP, why don't you release a pendrive version of eve through the EO-shop? Make it so that the settings are stored on the stick too, not in the users folders. That would be really nice ;)

not to hi-jack... but that would be cool. Have Racial PenDrives. Caldari one all angles and gray, Amarr all gold trim, Gallente version... have it be a micro USB hub so you could plug another 2 USB devices into it, Minmatar wrapped in duct tape but looking fast. Went a little wierd there but essentially a fun idea for something else in the CCP shop.
