even after the 10 min downtime i still have issues with the black screen. i have to clear the cache and settings to log in. even then i have graphics issues because they are set to high by default, i have to lower them to get rid of the graphical glitches but then the client has to go off which means i have to delete the cache and settings folder that contains the graphics settings! the cycle continues!!!

im on windows vista, a toshiba laptop. i still get the issue of needing to delete the setting folder to open the game. if i dont the screen goes black and the program doesnt respond. if i do i lose all settings, i need to lower the graphics to run the game but it then needs to close to resetup the graphics. i then need to delete the folder that contains the graphics setting to log back in. UGGHH!!

my vista toshiba laptop still wont open the client properly without deleting the settings file. it does not work because the dominion screen still wont open but it goes black, i hear the music and i can see the cursor. the only way i can close it is by using the task manager. when i check the problem i get this: Description: A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

Yeah, I have pretty much the exact same problem with the black screen, and still have the mouse and can hear the music. I have completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it about 12 times now, but it still does the same thing every time. I am not exaggerating about that many re-installations either. I actually am able to log in once every time I install it right when it finishes installing, but then it will crash as soon I try to even undock. And once I try to log out, the game crashes and then I am stuck with that black screen again and have to do a clean re-installation again if I want to log back in again to change a skill or something like that.
Bamf, its possible to play the game but its a ***** to do it. you have to delete the settings folder each time you log in, you find it in "C:\Users\*YOURNAME*\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility" or somthin like that, just go to mycomputer and follow the files. (this is on vista)

And as we are PAYING customers...CCP could be handling this a lot better. I don't mind being patient if I knew they were addressing the issues put forth and could see some light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm feeling CCP replies to me are auto-bot generated.....how salty do you think that makes me feel??
I feel that the convention and rap videos took up too much time that should have been spent programming....but that's just me....AND ABOUT 10,000 others !!
So...today...nothing back from CCP.No mails...no new patch...no " we screwed up...no you need a new graphics card. Nothing.
I want to come pod you, Skex...if I ever get back on...you carebear.
No I'm not an employee I'm just telling you like it is plain and simple.
Yes their replies to you are probably auto-generated so what? Would you rather the people fixing the problems be taking the time to personally reply to every bug report or actually working to fix the problem reported?
OMG all these tears because you can't log onto a game for a few days? It's the end of the ****ing world... try getting out of the house a bit drop down to the local bar and have a drink who knows if you take a shower first you might even get some action with an actual female member of our species that has low standards. Just don't tell her your online name so she isn't let down when she see's the tiny thing you're actually packing.
My point to all the whinny crybabies on the thread is that this is just the way the ****ing world works. Addapt or cry mkay?
**** breaks and programs have bugs it's as constant as death and taxes and something I'm ever thankful for since this reality provides me with a steady job (no not for CCP) Crying and whining on the forums isn't going to make the programers fix it any faster.
Geeze it's a game not a ****ing career.
You pay what 15 bucks a month and the game is available to play 23 hours a day 11 months and 3 weeks of the year. yet 1 week of the year you have problems and suddenly it's all butthurt and tears.
As far as CCP communication issues give me a break they are far from stellar at the best of times. what you think they're going to suddenly become open and outgoing now when things are so hectic?
HTFU and stop the belleyaching or GBTWOW.
They'll get it fixed but this ain't a fantasy world and they aren't wizards who can wave a wand and fix the problems.
Oh and if your little ego can't take a spanking on the forums I'll be heading back to RVB in about a week and you can come and blow up some of my ships and see if you can catch my pod and you won't even have to loose a ship to concord to do it.
Carebear indeed.
PREACH MY BROTHER, really though hardon, dry your eyes mate, i have problems but i tell ccp and dont smack 'em!

sounds exactly like the problem I have on my toshiba laptop running vista home premium. You can still kind of play if you follow the instructions deleting the cache and settings files. Just don't delete the cache. It's not necessary. Good to see you giving a productive comment bamf!
