I've been loving this patch so far, but an issue that I ran into on Sisi and bugreported has managed to slip through the cracks, and now it's rendering the game nearly unplayable for me.
On the fittings screen, a white stripe appears, beginning at the right edge of where the CPU and PG numbers should be, and continues to the left hand side of the screen. When the white stripe appears, my FPS drops from a capped 30 to 4. I enabled the FPS graph and took a screenshot, and you can see the dramatic drop in FPS when I open the Fittings window.
Please see the attached screenshot. You can find my DXDiag dump here.
A quick poll of Eve Radio chat found one other person with the bug. I have already tried updating my graphics drivers, and they are now the latest available for my graphics card.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this bug? CCP?

I have the same issue with Radeon X1800.
I have updated my graphics driver 3 times as the GM's stated that the problem had been solved for everyone else.
Still no luck for me, same issue.

Wait, what? Who's everyone else? I don't know anyone for whom the problem is simply 'solved'.

Problem is not solved, doesn't look like it will be solved soon. Didn't find any info, still unplayable. It has nothing to do with drivers, have the latest drivers installed. Keep moaning !!!! boooo horrible patch, everything worked fine till dominion hit my comp.

THis isn't the only problem that ATI users are having, My 4670 gets these freezes whenever I perform an action, such as go to warp, etc as long as textures are set to high.

the way around this is set the textures to medium and everything else to high leave bloom off and shadows off. mine no longer becomes a slide show with the textures set to medium. Lizaa

Yeah, I set em to medium right away while debugging the cause. Meant to say that it only happens when textures are set to high. Bad phrasing on my part.

Good to know. I have a ATI x1650 Pro and have the white box bug in the fitting panel though luckily I haven't had problems warping.
I submitted a bug report on this WITH a screenshot and got a e-mail back stating that my description of the bug was "unclear" and that I should update my bug report with a better description of the problem. I'd offer to draw them a picture but they apparently didn't know what to do with a screenshot so I think I'll just cut my losses and wait for a patch.

Good gods. That's incredible. Come on, QA, he literally -did- send you a picture. How more clear can it possibly get?

Did you even read my OP? I'm using the latest drivers. Catalyst 9.11. I updated them today, no change from before or after. That screenshot is from after I updated the drivers. I'm really glad that it worked for you, but it's obviously not working for the rest of us.

Edited by: CCP Sisyphus on 02/12/2009 09:53:02 Hi there.
Confusing case - I have exactly the same setup - same drivers, OS version, directX, ram etc. I dont get this white stripe.
Are you running fullscreen/windowed, and what settings are you running ingame?

I'm experiencing this very same issue since yesterday too.
The fitting screen appears to be loading fine at first, but a white stripe comes up together with the ship and modules, and that kills my fps.
Modules can still be added and removed ( technically, at least ), but the stripe hides the pgrid and cpu readouts.
Ati x1900xt video card here, by the way.

My system has a different set-up, but I experience this issue regardless of in-game settings ( I've tried switching back to fullscreen, changing the resolution and the various display options. Nothing I've tried appeared to work ).
On a side note, it seems that dragging the fitting window to the bottom of the screen - just enough to make the white stripe go off-screen - will bring the fps back to normal. You can then at least load saved set-ups without fps issues....

Edited by: omgdutch2005 on 02/12/2009 10:38:08 you sure the gfx card is not getting a tad hot? gfx card memory is ok aswell?
and pls do also report this problem to the driver team of ATI, so if it is a driver issue they can look into it, the more that report it, the more priority it gets..
had some issue once /w my ati 9600 back in the old days :P, and i contacted ATI driver via website, next patch (read driver release) it was fixed.

Hey everyone,
I have been experiencing this white stripe and lag thing on SISI long before the Dominion Patch yesterday.
I have found out that my graphiccard driver has been outdated. So I applied the newest Catalyst package (9.11, 11/17/2009) and the problem was gone.
SISI worked fine but I found out that since then I had a small colorful dot-frame around my icons on TQ. And I was not able to move my scanner probes in the system map anymore. That problem still remains and I dont know if the reason is the driver update.
Graphiccard: ATI X1950GT

I've check all ATI Windows dll's change all graphic settings to low, medium and high. Windowed and full screen.
The bug still exists and I cant play Eve at all. 3 accounts being paid for which I cannot use.
Bug reported, screen submitted, DxDiag submitted, all drivers at latest release.
There is nothing I can do.
