Try deleting all the "wineserver" folders inside the Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences folder. [Aussie players: join channel ANZAC] |

This is the first day that the EVE peeps will be looking at this... I don't recommend throwing away all your preferences without saving a backup. Re-installing the game, throwing away preferences, and the graphic settings thing are not a permanent fix.

Edited by: Deamos on 02/12/2009 14:32:31 Same here, Was in game trucking along and then suddenly the connection was lost, however it looked like I was still connected. Restart Eve and it displays the Dominion banner for a few seconds and then nothing..
I launched Eve via Terminal and here is the last few lines before the crash err:module:BUILTIN32_dlopen failed to load .so lib for builtin tbbmalloc.dll: dlopen(/Applications/Games/EVE Online.app/Contents/Frameworks/libtbbmalloc.dylib, 2): image not found fixme:heap:NewRtlGetProcessHeaps (): stub fixme:heap:NewRtlGetProcessHeaps (): stub fixme:d3dx9:D3DXCheckVersion stub fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:crt:_set_SSE2_enable stub! {flag = 1, returning 1} fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored err:fixup:PE_fixup_imports No implementation for KERNEL32.dll.132(CreateHardLinkW) imported from C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\vivoxsdk.dll, setting to 0xdeadbeef fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Security directory ignored fixme:win32:PE_CreateModule Load Configuration directory ignored fixme:macdrv:MACDRV_DestroyWindow (20021): stub err:dc:DCE_FreeWindowDCE [00020021] GetDC() without ReleaseDC()!

I was playing for an hour, perhaps less - and while jumping to a gate, just before I arrived, I got the message 'Server connection lost' - my internet connection was fine needless to say;
I had to force a quit and then restart the client - so far so good
Login screen is fine - ok
I click my primary and then a blank screen and the character selection modal never finishes. - waiting for godot, but strange I can swap out characters to my secondary but my primary is stuck in hyperspace - go figure?

same issue as others - worked fine yesterday but today can't even get to the logon screen. I get the dominion banner for a second and then nothing. Using Snow Leopard. Nothing has been changed between yesterday and today.

Edited by: Raz Trader on 02/12/2009 23:49:32 Same issue here. Got booted, and now can't even get to the logging screen. After the banner, nothing.
FWIW: Running Snow Leopard in 64 bit mode. Eve had been working smoothly up until the DC.

I am running a MacPro with Snow Leopard and found that if I go to "Macintosh HD/USER/Library/Preferences" and delete the "EVE Online Preferences" folder the client worked again. I did lose all of my preferences and I had to agree to the EULA again, but it is better than not playing. Let's face it... this game is like crack.
If you are new to Mac, there are more than one "Library" folders. You want to start at the "Macintosh HD" and then go to whatever Mac User account you are using. There you will see a Library Folder. BE CAREFUL. You can screw things up if you delete the wrong folder.
Thank you to the person who suggested this in the first place.
