I've encountered the problem many, many times... I buy 10 frigs, or 10 cruisers or whatever... To fit all of them I need to check every one of them, browse fittings, install everything by the 'fit' button... And STILL wait 30s or more to change to the next ship.
When I want to take one module out of another ship and put it into mine I first have to reship to the other, unfit, wait and go back to the first ship... Why no possibility of doing it remotely?
It often happens that one orders a freighter of frigs nad cruisers and a few bc with loads of modules. Having a saved fit I'd like to right click on a ship, open its fitting window, browse, fit and get to the next ship without changing from my first ship.
Why no remote in-station fitting or de-fitting of ships? WHY? With the fitting tool beeing so complex we can save and load fits, got modules, rigs and god knows what... We still can't put such a simple thing.
Not sure how to name but I really, really find a remote fitting too essential for small-ship battles. Just fitting every single ship seprately is a killer and a terrible waste of time. Think 2 ships - 30s... Think 100 ships (don't tell me you never bought 100 ships at a time). You can even SHARE fittings! God, is it that hard?
Sorry for ranting a bit, but I find the remote fitting too -essential- for modern space warfare. :)

Since there actually are crew onboard the ship, one should be able to make them fit the modules remotely.Simply sending an order to the crew. Rp reason to this.

It's not in there because you get boni for ships you fly. Actually, you wouldn't be able to fit anything to a ship you don't fly because there won't be any grid/cpu and no hardpoints available. --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

Ahem. There are hardpoints etc already on the ship. And in stations you're not penalized to bring modules and such online. So the crew could simply put the mods there, and then we add a nice button called "bring ship systems online" and voila! Nemo problemo!
And seriously, how can non pod pilots fly their ships if there's no hardpoints? C'mon And theres pg and cpu on the ship. Pod pilots are just cool and know how to tweak the systems a bit.

you really think a pod pilot is going to undo all his tinkering just because he changed ship. my drake is maxxed out cpu which means when i leave i have more fitted than the ship can handle. now i may be wrong (not) but does my ship implode or something. no because the game takes into account all my skills regardless off if im in it at the time or not. therfore allowing us to do this without changing ships should be allowed

I see no problem with the fit having too little pg and cpu... The ships you are not in currently also lack pg and cpu if they have a tight fit when you leave them. I guess it'd work the same, all modules on-line when you board, but are fitted remotely.

I think we should be able to have a look to fittings of ships we are not in. Just to know where the hell that damn module is.
It would be even better if we can at least unfit modules from ships in hangar without having to either repackage the ship and then lose insurance, or wait 60 second or more to change ship twice.
