Every ship has a cargohold. In every station you also have a cargohold, and shipbays. What I would like to see is something to be able to create partitions in any cargohold in eve online.
I could type a story to illustrate this, but a picture makes it a lot easier to grasp. I visualised my idea as follows:
Basically you get 2 sliders in your cargobay. You dont have to use them, but if you want you can slide them to create partitions in your cargobay. You could place your ammunition in one of those partitions, or whatever the hell you want.
The same system would also be applied to your hangar, items-section, etc.

why sliders?
just use some sort of hangar divisions with a total maximum cap... why would you limit each division?

I'm not sure I understand the advantage this brings. The reason CCP are introducing fuel bays vs cargoholds is for balancing and convenience - that has an explicit separation about what you stick in what bay. This simply creates smaller still-generic cargoholds - what is gained? ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties... CCP invented something to deal with this sort of problem. They called it cargo containers. --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

Clearly it's to separate different piles of stuff that belong to different players. Something that can be kinda tricky sometimes.

I actually agree with this. I've been thinking in a more complicated sense. I suppose this idea has passed the scene a number of times, but my idea could be changed to a cargohold with 3 layers, in which you can store a total of 1000m3 over 3 layers. Credits go to Total Distaster.

Your idea is good, but I doubt anything will be done about it because it already exists in-game.
Look up Station Vaults, Station Containers and other similar gigantic cargo containers and you'll find pretty much what you're looking for. |

I cant check right now as I'm at work, but I thought that you could only take stuff from, or place stuff in containers when you either anchor them in space, or when you are in a station. If this is not the case, I've learned something new about eve today :p
