Edited by: Knorkor on 03/12/2009 12:35:13 Problem:
A Hulk does a huge amount of ore compared to Cruisers. But the biggest anchorable Container ist 3.900m3. Jetcan mining bears much risks for the Miner if he is there as example only with a Hauler. Griefers can steal the ore and the miner will mostly be not capable of getting his ore back. In fact much steal just to get an easy Hulk-Kill without consequences. A Hulk looses to a Pirate. Of course.
Solution:
Add a Secure Container that has about 5.000 m3 in the Cargo of a Ship and in inside. So no advantage for Hauler with adding Cargospace. The Container however, should have a restriction in anchoring time. He should last around 4 Hours. Thats enough to time for a Hulk to be in need for relocation. Normal restrictions for anchoring apply. And the limited amount makes it useful in a team only, since the Hulk can carry much more Ore on itself if you are mining alone. So this solution will solve a problem, but not adding a solution in making more ISK faster from roids.
Drawbacks:
The piracy in highsec may be reduced, Gankers who do not dare to suicide might experience not to be able anymore to gank haulers and hulks without risk. Only suiciding will be an option. However, the old method will still apply, if the miner does not anchor the container or sets a too easy passwords. regards --------------------------------------- Sometimes it pays to stay in bed in Monday, rather than spending the rest of the week debugging Monday's code. ~Dan Salomon |

You could at least say what grinds your gears. I can take it to loose some ore, but is it really necessary to have all those pirates on you when mining? Eve does not need to safe everywhere, but at lease there must be ways to protect myself and my friends who haul from those pirates. I only complain about the size of the containers. It is too much micromanagement using 3900m3 Containers. regards --------------------------------------- Sometimes it pays to stay in bed in Monday, rather than spending the rest of the week debugging Monday's code. ~Dan Salomon |

Edited by: Nika Dekaia on 03/12/2009 14:09:00 Start your miners with some delay from eachother. Then your can will not be too small.
Or max out your hulk for cargo (rigs / expanders). Should get you to about 18k m¦ on the Hulk. Then just dump it in one go and have the hauler pick it up completely. Yes - you will mine a little bit slower but you will not have issues with canflippers.
Or better yet: go to a system with less people. There will be less can flippers, as well.
Or have a corpmate anihilate the canflipper. (have some reinforcments close by, the canflipper most likely has some)
The solutions are there. No new can needed.

Eve is a game of collaboration. Mining can be really sweet, have you tried apply to a proper corp that support mining? Like a corp that actually knows how to mine even with jetcans?
I suggest you apply to a proper corp, with proper players that can plan and utilize the tools given to us in the game. When you have done this, you will realize that even lowsec mining is "safe"

There was a colossal secure cargo container once, and it's still in the database, at 12k m¦.. I have requested to bring it back ingame several times.. No chance.. CCP decides not to listen to any request of that sort. Not even to the request to make Cans hackable (i.e. make them hang next to the can for 5 minutes in order to open them)... --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

Edited by: rashek raak on 03/12/2009 15:43:59 Join a corp with an Orca Pilot. Let the orca pilot gang boost you while you mine. Stuff the ore you mine into the corp hangar of that orca pilot. Let your hauler empty the orca corp hangar. Give the Orca pilot some % of the ore you mined, as you mine faster and more, because of his gang boosting. No flipping possible! Three happy people!

I know all the suggestions.. but you don't have an orca pilot always at hand. And sometimes a corp does not even have one. And my Cargo is not running full, it is just too much micromanagement with 3900 m3. It has nothing to do with not beeing hardened. And even in my system, where the local has about 10 People average, there are canflippers. So don't talk to me like to a rookie. --------------------------------------- Sometimes it pays to stay in bed in Monday, rather than spending the rest of the week debugging Monday's code. ~Dan Salomon |
