So I get a pop up on the splash screen saying 1.0.1 has been deployed, yet i still get the Incompatible Protocol message.
any thoughts?

i did try deleting the cache as well.
aaand here here is my info:
- Macbook Pro
- Version 10.5.8
- Nvidia GeForce 9400M

Yeah I'm getting the same thing. Great job guys.
After the incompatible protocol thing stay up for a while, I get prompted to download a new build. Try to download it, but it's corrupted.

Have you tried manually downloading the patch from the patch site: http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp?s=&test=&system=mac
I believe that this is the patch you are looking for: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/mac/evepremiumpatch117956-118495-mac.tgz

Casqade, you rushed into closing the Download of client fails topic.
I'm having the very same issue:
Full client download from official site fails after 120~160 mb of download and wont restart. Tried in Safari, FF, Opera...

Exactly! I was talking about the full client. Meaning a complete re-install. I can't get the whole 2.7GB.

Where are you connecting from?
If you are unable to download the entire client, please file a petition and this will be looked into by customer support.
