Edited by: Ayari on 03/12/2009 22:09:36 I really like the new planetary graphics, but I hope that in the future, you're planning to increase the amount of planetary variation.
Flying around I've found the black and red lava planet, the yellow dustball with a thin atmosphere, the light blue ice planet, the dark blue swirling clouds planet with lightning storms, the blue and green earth type worlds and gas giants. The only type of planet that seems to have any color variations are the gas giants.
Is it possible in the future with the procedural terrain system that you use to generate some more colors?

Bump.
Differently (but realistically) colored planets would bring much more depth to star systems. Even a small variation of the basic color would help.

the fun begins when you find a plasma planet.

Yes, even though the terrain is random, one dusty planet looks very much like any other dusty planet, now if there were different shades of sand and rock, that would make the planets more unique, like reddish rock or blackish rock

Were talking about devs who set a gas planet the second planet and a temperate or oceanic 9th away from its sun. Normally you would expect a gaseous planet to come after a rock. Not to mention I saw a star the other day that was 25 billion years old which is crazy old. Point is if they can't even get these details right why worry about planet variations?

Also, Oimmo V, a very significant planet to myself and some of my ex-corpies in CAIN is now a dark blue lightning planet, whereas it used to be an orange gas-giant.
Please fix this or I will stamp my little foot and post quitting threads in IG.

That's nothing compared to the fact that solar systems in eve are static. It really can't be that hard to fix.

I also like the new planetary/moon graphics a lot and looked forward to them. But what still annoys me a bit is the fact that the planet type and its corresponding surface temperature/distance from the star are often unrealistic. Like an Earth-like planet with oceans etc. with 14K (!) surface temperature...
