Edited by: Denise Bloch on 07/12/2009 04:52:31 As far as I know there's no site out there that lets you filter by "My Agents". I really don't know why not since this would be a wonderful tool.
From what I know of API the limited key will fetch agent standings, I'm not sure if this is true standings or "corrected" after skills are taken into effect, but if not, limited key fetches skills too, so this would be easy to calculate.
So logging into a site like eve-agents.com (or any other if someone wants to create this), would let you tick a box "Show only my agents", and then select all the filters you wanted to, such as region, level, locator, etc.
The new IGB also offers tons of ways to use trusted sites, such as filter by closest agent (new IGB fetches current system if you have the site trusted).
It would also be useful to be able to select multiple categories (shift select). The best example I can think of for putting all this together into one search would be selecting "show only my agents", filter by locator agent and closest agents, and select both level 3 and 4 agent. This would give you the closest locator agent that you can you that can find anyone anywhere. It'd be nice if IGB implementation also let your right click on items and get info in game, such as agent info, or set waypoint for systems, but I can live without that part.
If Chribba implements this, or anyone else creates an agent site that implements these suggests well, I'd donate 20mil (not that Chribba needs it :P ). I'm not a rich guy, so consider that a lot from me.

If you can spell Chribba's name correctly, he will actually visit the thread.
If I may ask for a clarification right now, are you suggesting that you'd like a site where you can simply get a list of the agents that you have access to that are "nearby"?
Do you want to limit by agent level? There are an awful lot of agents out there, after all. You might also want to consider whether you want to limit by type. Some people might be interested in only combat agents, others might be interested in only courier missions. Others might be dead keen on mining missions.
Many of my alts (as an example) can handle level 4 courier missions in a pinch (all you need is a frigate and a tier 2 hauler, which can conveniently carry the frigate in its hold). These alts can't fly anything bigger than a cruiser, so they definitely wouldn't want a level 4 combat mission.
What are you actually looking for when you say you want a list of "my agents"?
Are you in the middle of a stream of combat missions and had to decline two within the space of four hours, and simply want a new agent to carry on missions with? Are you interested in building standings with an NPC corp and simply want to find out if there's a higher level agent nearby that you now have access to?
And while I'm here, and reading that you're not a rich guy, I simply can't resist linking the Beginner's Guide to Making ISK. If you were to work on building NPC corp standings in order to access R&D agents, this "show my agents" thing could be quite useful.

Edited by: Denise Bloch on 07/12/2009 05:06:47 Re-read the third paragraph (appologies for mis-spelling his name, it's been fixed) I think this is the best summery of my suggestion. I want a site where you can still filter agents by level, kill or courier missions, etc. However, instead of getting every agent out there you would only get agents that you have access to.
My specific need came from my exact example of finding the nearest locator agent, but finding a new agent after you've had to decline a mission is another good example. check "Only My agents", sort by those nearest you, and pick the next lowest one.
So in answer to your very first question, yes, but to expand on that; I would like a site where I can get a list of all agents I have access to, and be able to sort them by nearby if I wished. As for your following questions, yes, filtering exactly as its done on eve-agents right now, as far as the categories go, but be able to select multiple ones. For example, using your specific example, maybe I want to limit by agent level, but I don't care if the agent is either level 3 or level 4, so I select both of those instead of only level 3 -or- only level 4. Similarly I could select 3 corporations if I didn't care which one I was going to run missions for, I just wanted to know the closest one.
Really this is just a suggestion on ways to improve an already great tool, and one I'm surprised nobody has put in place yet. Eve-agents is great and I don't know what I would do without it, and we already have things like Eve-HQ that fetches standings. It seems to me the logical conclusion would be to put the two together so you could view agents you had access to. It all just gives you a better way to customize your searches and find the agents you need.

Such features are already on the todo list of EVE-Agents, I am currently looking into how to best tie up that with EVEBoard for use of the API.

Being able to easily find the closest locator agent that I actually have access to would be nice... that's always a pain for someone who doesn't do a ton of missioning all the time...

Chribba - Any chance one could get a box (or if IGB, automatic) to fill in a solar system, and then sort the result of a search by "closest to me". It would be awesome to be able to search for a L3 locator agent, and have the closest one presented. _________________ - Rivqua - --- R.E.P.O. --- |

It has been on the todo list to get agents close by, but has been given low priority due to the extra calculations needed when doing the jump math.

Woot!
/me hopes this small show of support has moved the priority up a bit.
Thanks for the reply

Hi, We have a small site that will tell you this. If will, ofcourse, require your limited API key, to figure out which agents you can use. You can check it out at http://eve.noonecares.dk in the IGB.

Edited by: Denise Bloch on 07/12/2009 21:46:26 I keep getting errors...
Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error
etc.
Edit: I have the feeling your site is still using the old headers from the last IGB, some things changed in the new one.

Found this for anyone still interested in this. It doesn't make up for all of it, but it helps with the locator agents.

Yea actually it uses the new headers, it just requests trust using the old function. Just add it to trusted sites, and you should have no problems. We'll get the request-trust fixed later on.

Yep, that worked, I take it this only shows level 3 and up agents? Which is all I would want anyway, 1 and 2 aren't really useful.

hia
a little pet project of mine does exactly that. if you access it as a trusted site with the ingame browser, it will automatically use your current solar system location and calculate the distance in jumps to all agents selected.
http://agents.eve-commander.com
it does not have multiple category selection, as this would blow up the selection form to something way to complicated to use for most users.
and it does not do api stuff - i know from eve commander that providing api keys to third party software is done very restrictively and an agent finder is hardly on the criteria list of need to do so for most players i assume.
but i still hope it helps you some.
