Edited by: z0de on 07/12/2009 19:31:37 an outlaw = someone with a sec status lower than -5. Reping = using a remote armour/hull repair system or shield transporter on another player. gcc = red timer in the top left corner when the player has broken the law in the last 15mins.
With the current mechanics if you want to rep a fellow outlaw you get a gcc, regardless of what they are doing. I agree that reping someone with an active gcc should give the reper a gcc, but if they are just reping an outlaw without a gcc then the reper should not get a gcc.
An old issue I know, but one that's never been dealt with and as far as I can tell has no offical word from ccp.
Edited for clarity. á á

Technically rats shooting you have earnt themselves a GCC, though CONCORD are apparently too lazy to do anything about it in any security system.

I agree it should stay the same way for a non-outlaw repping an outlaw. Adds to the stigma of being an outlaw etc.
However outlaws repping outlaws should'nt incur a gcc. The whole mechanic is a bit odd since outlaws are considered criminals anyway and.. always? whatever, not such a big deal IMO.

I'd also accept that, its a fair compromise. á á

An outlaw repping an outlaw that does not have GCC should not result in GCC. Beyond that I don't really care. -----------------------------------------------------

That's not a fair compromise, that's silly. What we need is a new flag, like a global aggression flag, that makes you a valid target for any player, but doesn't incur NPC sentry/police wrath, just like the Outlaw status does, so that repping an outlaw just makes you an outlaw for 15 minutes, it doesn't make you sentry bait.

Even better, but complicated. á á

Repping my own drones as an outlaw should not give me a security status decrease. It is the dumbest thing ever, why don't I also get a security status decrease for repping my ship too? |

In the old human societies, giving aid or shelter of any kind to an outlaw usually made you an outlaw yourself for aiding and abetting. Why should it be any different in EVE?
Your suggestion is idiotic, and caters to kids brought up on Donald Duck, where the Beagle Boys only need to duck behind the nearest corner to be safe from punishment after a heist.
Sorry, but I do think that there should be some inconvenience for choosing the criminal career path in EVE.

You're missing the point, this is about the game mechanics not rp. á á
