I'm really looking forward to this "Excellence" that was announced for the coming year at Fanfest. I hope CCP will address the release procedure too.
Because unexpected DTs / service interruptions are rather far from excellence...

I agree!
I agree with the post author in that we should be compensated around 12 hours gameplay. This month our subscription has been lower than the alloted 30 days - 30x1hr DT.

This is not a gripe about so much DT. Its a moan about me (and everyone else) having to pay for something which has been advertised everywhere as 'free'. The amount of unscheduled DT due to this upgrade is now starting to get to a level where everyone should be recompensed.
....and no, i know we wont be, but it certainly doesnt mean im not allowed to voice my opinion on the matter.
Ill anwser your question.
The problem is the core argument. You argue that you pay for a service(to play) that isnt provided (because of DT).
The expansion is free, cost no additional rl money. That is what CCP are advertising.
Yes it has some sideeffects like less playtime.
The question then is: Do you want to pay 100 euro for the expansion or pay the monthly fee and get less DT for the upgrade?
I know what I would pick.

DT started at 9.30, and hour and a half later than it was planned. This downtime is until 1pm, that means CCP have 30mins spare than the original time they stated.
EVE Online: Dominion 1.0.2 will be deployed this Tuesday, December 08, 2009. The deployment process will begin at 09:30 GMT/UTC and is expected to be completed at 12:00 GMT/UTC. The patch will address some of the reported issues with Dominion and patch notes are available for review.
DT started at the stated 930 and was extended at 1201 to 1300, so im afraid that its you who is wrong.
@Mrs Retina : sorry, its already all accounted for.
Notice that all important word! You fail.

Id happily pay for patchs if they worked 100%
I love this game however it is the single worst game i've even known for patchs that need patching within DAYS.
For other games, again they are free patchs you download and play perfectly.

Originally by: Traviance Edited by: Traviance on 08/12/2009 12:11:42 Considering its a pay game, there is a lot of DT...not only everyday (we can learn to live with it. but it severely affects users in Europe far more than other players, giving them a time advantage.)Daily DT cuts into my play time every day (I play mornings mostly) and an extended DT is just annoying TBH!
err u are kidding right? dt is exactly in our prime time for us aussies...pfft euros got it bad you have no idea.
oh yeh and stop whining, at least its free :)
I agree with Laurew, us Australians have to put up with a 1 hour interuption every time we get on.
I dont usually get into eve until about 4 or 5 Aus EST, downtime starts at 9, I get 4 hours to play before I get kicked. You can't get much done in 4 hours, especially if your corps mostly from the USA.
So none of you should be crying about it cutting into your play time. Deal with it!
And the expansions are free. Do you pay for them when they come out? No, expansions require no additional payment, you pay a monthly subscription fee, nothing extra for expansions.
Sure your money goes to the guys who make the expansions, but so does the subscription money from WoW, but WoW expansions arent free are they?
Really, stop complaining, go outside, read a book, sleep or for some weird reason you might want to get a socal life.
