As the title says, when CCP brightened all of the V3 textures it made the Gallente skins a bit washed out and faded looking, rather than the darker greys and greens they should be. I understand the need to brighten some of the textures (apparently Amarr was too dark, but I had no problems seeing details) |

The exact same problem is currently being had by the new Drake model IIRC; it is far, FAR too bright looking and IMHO also 'cartoony' to ft in with the rest of the Caldari lineup. The main aspect at fault is the stupid yellow caution lines all over it's front half, and the mysterious red lights it has on it for some reason, though definitely it is also the brightest Caldari ship for no particular reason. I liked the textures on the older Drake model; there were alot of good darker greys mixing with lighter ones, which made it more visually interesting. This new texture is basically a step back, because it looks like the V2 Drake but with heatmapping.
Actually now that I look at it, almost every ship looks kind of washed out in space; shadow's aren't nearly as dark as they were before. This doesn't really sit right IMO. |

I agree, 'washed out' seems like a good way of putting it. Compare the Tornado on SISI and TQ for a stark contrast. |

ooohh, the lighting talked about on the patch notes has been updated on Sisi?
how does the Amarr ships look? On holiday. -áIn some other world. Where the music of the radio was a labyrinth of sonorous colours. To a bright centre of absolute convicton where the dripping patchouli was more than scent, It was a sun-á |

Worse IMO. I never had a problem with the amarr ships being too dark, but apparently other people did. Now they look washed out as well. It doesn't look like the ships are brighter at all, just that they all had the contrast turned up super high so that everything is washed out. |

Never had an issue with 'dark' ships. This isnt happy-funtime online, and im not going to fly a rainbow. I actually always thought that ships (Especially amarr) were too bright. I loved the first wave of amarr V3 that darkened them up a bit. Also loved the Dark Gray Caldari skins.

I found the whole Gallente V3 lineup rather underwhelming. |

It's not too bright. Those textures just need more color, right now it's more like black and white. |
