I see over and over on the forums..'file a petition' what recourse does a player have if no one ever answers his/her petition? There is no other way to get anyone's attention? My boyfriend was recently scammed on a character purchase. He has been waiting two days and several petitions and not even an acknowledgement. It is the biggest complaint I hear from players in game...they have no faith in this process whatsoever.
I work in customer services and think its unacceptable. If my company offered the same level of support that eve does we would all be out of jobs. Waiting more than two days for even an acknowledgement is not good enough.

Sorry if im wrong...but looking at the other posts here..they all look like technical issues. Is not getting a response to a petition a technical issue then??? Not quite understanding why you moved it? Is it because this one gets less traffic then the others?

Edited by: Gibbo3771 on 12/12/2009 13:11:45 Agreed, its ok like when filing a petition if you are confused and you think you have been ripped off. But when it comes to your REAL money they do not give a ****, we are just ants in there little money grabbing scheme. If i PAY money for something out of a shop and there is an issue, I take it back or call for help and get it there and then. I do not have to wait days........glad eBay isent like this.
Someone was actualy complaining they got banned for over a week becuase someone sent them laundered isk and the GB didnt even bother to respond to his petition and answer why he was banned, they simply just fixed it behind his back and got him online when they felt like it.
Note : Do not interfere with the forces of forum moderation!

Sadly CCP are human, as much as we woulod love them to be robots this means they can only fix so much so fast, you won't get any kind of notice once a petition has been seen until the GM responds to you, on a char transfer they have to find out why the char wasn't transferred, the rules don't state the char transfer has to be done within 24 hours of payment so if they guy hasn't logged in since you sent payment its not a scam he just hasn't seen it, patience is a virtue so wait for the outcome. Hi pirolatran and other pod pilots,
We apologize for being late answering petitions. While we try our best to answer petitions in a timely manner (within a day) there are times when our queues get "overloaded" so to speak. Expansions such as we just released, tend to create various issues for a number of players which results in a vastly increased petition creation.
We are doing our best to address your issues in a timely manner. To assist us in this, it would be very helpful if everyone would limit themselves to only one petition per issue.
Yours,

I'm not sure if they do this already, but having a petition priority system would be beneficial in these kinds of situations. Then things like billing issues, account compromises and exploits could be dealt with right away.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. EVE has devs that care about sound? (Ha ha ha! Gotcha. It actually doesn't!) |

Boyfriend was logged on and in convo with the guy when he transferred him the isk. Then the guy logged off. So its not a matter of finding out why it hasnt been transferred yet.

Edited by: pirolatra on 12/12/2009 13:59:30 Thanks for your reply GM Nova. We understand you are busy but to not even get an acknowledgement leaves us wondering if anyone is looking at it or even cares.
This guy has scammed my boyfriend out of all his isk and is probably enjoying the benefits of his 'illegal' acitivies right now. While bf is left with no isk, frustrated and wondering if it will be fixed. I would think that someone scamming in game like this would take a priority. He could be buying other characters with this isk and then when that happens: more people involved, more bans probably and more work tracking what exactly is going on.
Just a note...the guy just logged onto the character in question so yeah that is VERY unfair and frustrating!!

Edited by: CannibalCorpseZor on 12/12/2009 14:05:08 Now hes logged on and probably buyinf other stuff with my money wont answer my mails or convos.
Feels awsome that CCP cares so much. Im sorry but this is just f-upped cause there are evidence like forums post money being tranfered with reason that im buying him and even a eve mail him saying that he accepted the buyout should take a GM 2 seconds to notice he hasnt left corp still in the same corp that hes been for 2 years and no attempt to contact me has been done from his part.
And just send me back my isk ban his account for investigation so i can get on with my playing isntead hes free todo whatever and im sitting here not being able to play the game since ive got 40 mill in my wallet.
And apperntly hes now stating that hes been hacked and has also done a petition so why i cant get my isk back is beyond me.

And you'll get it back you just have to wait, its also the weekend so less staff about, even if he's been hacked if he doesn't pay and transfer the char he loses the iskies and you get them back, if he was hacked all he has to do is pay to transfer the char then take the rest up with CCP, either way its not an instant process as much as you would want it to be, different queues have different priorities, for example stuck petitions have the fastest response time in general because those actually stop you playing the game altogether, you can still login and move about so you're better off than those who are stuck for example, just wait ^^ Rally Against Evil Site |

What I would like to know is why, when I finally do get an answer to a petition, it appears that it was not even read? I have 3 accounts and I can't think of one time that the answer actually addressed the petition. Which, of course, then requires a response pointing this out and requesting they actually read petition and respond accordingly which doubles the time that should have been invested in it originally. The one exception to this just occurred and I won't even say where I think brain was that day. After game crashed AGAIN, and I had to dump preferences file AGAIN (this while I was mid warp btw) - I finally get back on to find myself in a pod with over a billion in cargo gone. The response was basically "oh well, we are sure you will recover quickly, I'm sure you understand how our hands are tied regarding reimbursements." I am now waiting for response to my answer to that but may be canceling my accounts. Why stay if we can't even play the game? Oh, and incidently, CCP has never once done right by any of my characters when it game to losses due to game glitches. And I have had major losses that I have had to cover out of my own pocket - If there is any other recourse I would certainly like to know what it is. Petitions have proven to have no value what so ever.

Agreed again, it feels as if they do not even read the "situation" sometimes. I have done numerous reimbursement petitions becuase of socket closed, lag, jumping but not translating over to the other side of the gate in highsec......it feels as if they read the part "highsec" look at my sec status and say, while you are -10 and regardless of what ship you are in Faction police can still catch you. Uhm no they cant, stabs and inertias, ******s dont even know there own mechanics. Thats not the point now is it?
I remember one zooming throo highsec in a taranis, I hit the last highsec into lowsec, near g-9 and It says "Jumping blah blah", the gate flashed. My ship just sat there, I couldnt move. Next thing I know im getting shot, i watch myself die slowly to start then instapop the rest, Now I am in my pod and woohoo "Traffic bullsht, you are cleared to jump in 3 minutes". Maybe tell me that a bit earlier so I can GTFO?!
Oh, while I am here, the game is great, tech support blows, forum blows. When I log into MY ACCOUNT and then click FORUMS and maybe I want to go visit my PETITIONS (doing this a lot recently) think I might, just MIGHT want to stay logged in? if its not too much trouble. Or you can rent a proper forum like every other company.
Seriously my corp has a forum built from scratch by a member of the corp and its better than this.

Eve support staff standard tricks:
- Not answer petitions at all if they think you are in the wrong. (He'll get sick of waiting eventually.) - If it is a bug they don't know about, they will keep giving BS responses from a stock template of things to try until you give up and go away. - Claim there are no logs to support what actually happened. Sorry. your problem.
Also on scamming. (Unless hacking can be proved) CCPs response is "anything goes". This is true EVEN though the implementation of mechanics like: - Access controls in POS/Hangars/wallets - Poor User Interface in Market and Contract interfaces encourages scams that you would NEVER be allowed to get away with in real life.
If the character purchase was not done through the "legitimate process" then I wish you luck. Those that I know who've bought chars the dodgy way get scammed by the old owner claiming their account got hacked and a large isk transfer is reversed. CCP would find that hard to prove and you would likely not get your stuff back.
Anyway,
Good luck.
