Ya but they really should mail out a new CD. To what 30k ppl :). Don't you want them to focus more on making our game better instead of them wondering what the hell your correct addy is?
Burn to CD, if you have 56k well, it may take a day, but you only have to do it once. And you'll never forget to keep it updated after that.

460*1024 = 471040 kB 471040 kB / 4kB/s = 117760 seconds = 32,7 hours. Straight.

Sooo... Current solutions are:
-Buy a CD-Burner -Buy broadband. -Buy a network.
Brilliant. But I doubt CCP will make a new CD. They've got a nice niche here, they aren't going to make a new CD just to help people who have hard-drive failure. They'd have to have enough other potential customers to make that finacially viable, and simply put, they don't. ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

Ok on the note of how long it takes 56Kers to download the patches I would like you to review the system requirements on the side of your eve box. (Internet connection: BROADBAND) 56Kers do not fit the minimum system requirements therefore eigther upgrade or deal with it.

come on even Broadband takes forever downloading the whole darn CD
I am not asking for a CD a month but getting a shiva release (and then just patch from shiva (exodus) CD to current patch is a heck of alot faster

if people want to pay for it then it is a viable option IMO. The cost charged would offset the cost of producing and posting it.
On another point it would be good to see a full retail version of Exodus released with some new marketing to get even more players online.

There has been internal discussion about whether to offer a cd in the EVE Store with the latest version of the client, but the discussion was put on the back burner for Exodus. Once the Exodus deployment is completed, the discussion will be re-opened. I think there stands a good possibility that such a cd will be released.
