I would like to see some economic demographics. A while back, I heard a claim that less than 5% of eve pilots had over a billion isk. Which would put me in the upper 5% I suppose, however I still feel a sting when losing a couple hundred million during combat.
And there's some with well over 100s of billions. Which would clearly establish a class/clique/club all of their own.
Wealth distribution statistics, and possibly a sort of generalized employment area statistics... industrialists, other (ratting, piracy, espionage, stealing), trade, mission runners etc.
I'm not sure what data you have access too, but some figures related to this sort of thing might be very interesting. Perhaps it can be transposed across a general template sorta like how we manage economic statistics regarding countries... except across regions, and or alliances (because these can overlap).
Adverse effects might take place due to such reports, as people seeking a better flow of income (or lifestyle) might act on their interpretation of the reports, pursuing new ventures. Or, it might give warm and fuzzies to some of us who think we might be poor ;) Or, justify the egos of those who are clearly wealthy!

Edited by: Ki Tarra on 18/12/2009 22:00:44 A problem with those demographics, is that they do not account for assets: I expect many players would have a small ISK balance in comparison to the value of the assets they hold.
Another problem is corp wallets: I expect that many players would have their ISK stored in corp wallets rather than their personal wallets.
It would likely be diffucult to show that the demographics have any real meaning.

I think those numbers have more to do with how many people feel the irrational desire to stockpile vast sums of money just for the strange pleasure of seeing the numbers on their wallet.
If it mattered to me, i would have easily accrued many billions by now. But there's just too many shiny new things to buy and fit.

QEN Q1 2009 PDF has some nice info on "ISK in wallets" for those of you who have not read it, starting on p.16. There are also a few notions on the subject in the QEN Q2 2009 PDF. Of course, bear the demographical problems in mind & don't jump to conclusion fast based on these figures.

Another issue that hasn't been brought up in this thread:
Players with multiple accounts with assets spread across many characters. For example I have a market alt with most of my liquid Isk, a corp account with more Isk for Invention material purchases, three other personal wallets for day-to-day needs and assets EVERYWHERE.
If you look at each one separately, I'm barely a billionaire. Together, you're looking at excess of 10 billion in Isk and assets.

I'd include that under mentioned demographical problems, but you are right of course, things would look alot different accounting for the points you make.

Here's some excerpts from the wallet info in QEN Q1 2009 in some short bullets. Any factual errors are purely my own misinterpretations, recheck if you need.
- Around 36 000 accounts or 14% have between 100 - 250 MISK.
- 25 000 accounts or 10% have between 250 - 500 MISK.
- About 18% of the accounts have between 100 - 1000 MISK.
- Less than 11%, or about 28 600 accounts, have over 1 BISK in the wallet.
