(Apologies for the formatting; this was copied straight from IRC.)
KILLOR: I just won EVE. KILLOR: Whole thing, all mine; I won it fair and square. KILLOR: I was probing in (a system). I found a wormhole system with a very juicy DB medium POS in it, complete with reactor arrays, etc. KILLOR: So, being me, I immediately think, "I wonder if my Rev could solo this." KILLOR: And the answer was, with three heatsinks, "Yes!" KILLOR: So I go about refitting and jumping said Rev four (capital) jumps to get to the hole. KILLOR: And I drop it in front of the hostile tower, in siege. KILLOR: Within a minute, an Omen shows up. KILLOR: Within a few more, a Moros is sitting inside the shields. KILLOR: When a Rev shows up a minute after that, the Rev and Moros start moving for the edge. KILLOR: The Moros starts shooting me; I pop my booster and begin repping in earnest. KILLOR: When the Rev starts shooting me, it's looking dire; I switch targets to the WD battery. KILLOR: My calc show it should die in about four minutes; it takes closer to five, but I get it down. KILLOR: Problem is, I still have five minutes left on my siege cycle. KILLOR: I proceed to lead the most nuanced overheating dance in the history of EVE. KILLOR: I carefully, lovingly even, overheat a module, then stop. KILLOR: My favorite to overheat is my EM hardener, which I had fitted especially to tank that POS, and which now seems especially prescient due to the Revelation shooting me. KILLOR: But I also hit my cap rep with the heat, as well. KILLOR: My armor is slowly bleeding down. KILLOR: I go into structure. KILLOR: I have perhaps two minutes left on siege at this point, and the warp disruptor is down. KILLOR: There's a new arrival on the field, a Thanatos, heading straight for me, but it'll take him too long to get out of the shields. KILLOR: I think I can manage this unless the Omen gets wise and comes after me with a point, if he has one even fit. KILLOR: (A friend) is standing behind me during all of this, BTW. KILLOR: My siege cycle ends, and I'm immediately hitting "warp" to my covops scout, positioned back at the WH to (the K-space system). KILLOR: I'm at 2/3 structure. KILLOR: I'm repping 24,960 armor every 11.25 seconds, and they're beating the **** out of me. KILLOR: My friend suggests I should pull in my sentries; I point out that I need every last second of surprise I can get out of them. KILLOR: At the last second, I scoop my sentries. KILLOR: Tail leaking fire, I'm in warp. KILLOR: I jump through, and warp to a planet to assess the damage. KILLOR: 0 shield KILLOR: 0 armor KILLOR: 125,977.5/253,906.3 structure KILLOR: I brought my Rev, solo, against a POS and three caps, and made it out alive. KILLOR: Armored Warfare mindlink gave me HP, Capital Repair Systems V gave me rep, maxed-out drug skills minimized my chances of getting the armor HP penalty from the Exile, Strong Exile gave me +10% more boost than Standard, Thermodynamics V let me overheat as much as humanly possible (the only module I lost was a heat sink, all the rest are one "click" away from dying), and Capital Ships V let me align fast enough to get out before they realized what I was doing. KILLOR: This single battle was the culmination of my entire EVE career. KILLOR: <fin>

Here's what the aftermath was: a single Thanatos, now consigned to rep duty for more than an hour, all because he didn't fit a point and get out of the shields in time to lock me down: schadenfreude.

Two answers:
- It's a class-6 WH system. They have a Golem logged off in the POS. In order to tank C6 sleepers, that Golem is almost certainly deadspace- and officer-fitted. Even if he's not the primary tank, chances are good that he's running faction or officer BCS and launchers. That's a heck of a payday right there if he logs in without learning that the POS is destroyed.
- In terms of more-reliable reward, the POS is full of reactor arrays and silos full of C6 WH goo. Unless they'd been recently emptied, the contents of those (not to mention the reactors themselves) would have been worth billions.

That and its really rewarding to make it out alive against pretty steep odds :)
Kudos dude, you have balls.

Nice read. Sounds like a pretty nuts thing to do but you came out of it with a great story and an intact ship! What more could you ask for?! I repped up the structure on a revelation once from about 12%, I don't envy you that part. At least the structure reps don't make a noise anymore )

I fail to see the ballsiness. He thought he was facing off against a lone POS, not 3 caps.
Nonetheless, good read :) +1 eve to you. PS: This is not part of my signature

I'm pretty sure he wasn't planning on just the POS to fight back against him.
Balsy and stupid - but you had fun which is the most important thing. Did you have slaves as well?

Not even kidding, after I got out, I turned to my friend and said, "Y'know, I think that might have been the first capital fight in the history of EVE in which Slaves might have made the difference between living and dying." I actually have a Slave clone (thanks, AT4!), but I elected not to use it, since I wasn't really feeling the risk/reward there; I would've been basically putting a second dreadnought on the line at that point. The clone I used had +4's, an Armored Warfare ML, and some hardwires that I'd rather not specify.

I was fleeted up with an alt in the system; the Mindlink thus gave me an additional 15% armor HP.
