Since ctrl-left click is lock target can we get it so the right button does the opposite? I can't tell how many times I've been Salvaging things or looting wrecks after tractoring them in and then have to go to the icon and right click to unlock it.
Anyone else feel the same way?

This would be pretty much awesome, as long as it worked from the locked target icon (where you currently have to click to unlock the target) in addition to working from in space or from the overview.
(Also from the watch list)
This would be really great not only for salvaging but also for logistics pilots who need to free up locks quickly to lock up new RR recipients, so this isn't just a PVE thing. ________________

Could work too. Either way the problem is that unlocking a target right now is hard to do quickly and it gets in the way of gameplay sometimes ________________

Edited by: Callista Sincera on 20/12/2009 20:07:16 Unlocking a target is merely super annoying, aborting a lock in progress is far beyond that: It's impossible. I'm also wondering how this game made it this far without a means to cycle between the locked targets.
Anyway, this kind of stuff is never going to be fixed. At least not until they hire someone with at least a tiny bit of clue what "human interface design" means...
edit: Maybe if you could get a CSM to raise the issue... -

/ signed. Nice to see a REALLY good idea, simple and useful. I think ctrl clicking with the left button would be fine, if its easier to code for the right mouse button then go nuts, either is good. cheers Intangible Mirage!!! |

Glad to see some support on the subject of what is probably a very easy coding procedure.

You can currently unlock a target from the context menu. Having a keyboard or mouse shortcut to do the same probably wouldn't hurt.
I must express my support for the idea of being able to abort a lock in progress.

I can understand why you can't abort an unlock, at least wise of the possibilities of how the locking process was coded. However unlock could be vastly improved by making it easier.

Brilliant thread imo.
Both: - Unlocking a target via a keyboard/mouse shortcut would be awesome, and yea CTRL+'Right Click' would be the most obvious choice.
- Cancelling a lock would be an awesome idea. I dont know how many times Ive been flying something with a low scan res', the overview jumps suddenly and you start locking the wrong target. Im sure many people have had similar experiences.
I believe these features would be greatly recieved by all eve players and wouldn't be hard to implement. Arses in gear then CCP; fix our targetting woes

Oh, yes.
Ctrl-click the targeted ships seen on the top of the screen, to unlock. Instead of the right-click and do unlock.
