After a mediocre week in RvB, last night turned into one of the best nights I've had in EVE. We had a low/null sec roam scheduled for 2200 hrs GMT, but even before that I got myself on 18 Kills for the loss of one Thrasher and that is good for me speaking as the 2nd highest loser in Blue Republic.
Having recently trained cruisers I fitted a Stabber for the roam, hoping this one wouldn't end as the last four had done (in a pod) or at least this time I would actually feature in the high DPS portion of the enemy KMs.
Some 38 pilots formed up for the roam, as is the nature of Red v Blue, it was a completely rag tag fleet with a few BS, BC and T2 craft, but mostly T1 Cruisers with a few Frigates. Many pilots were inexperienced with either large fleets or low / null sec. I myself had never been to null sec before and a 38 ship fleet was the biggest I'd seen, nevermind participated in. Props to Wraithstorm for his patience and the competent way he brought us all together and led us.
Scouts were sent out and the main fleet started towards the nearest region of low sec. Shortly one of our scouts reported a Bubble Camp in PF-346 and we diverted to that system, but the efficient enemy Bubble Camp had sentries out at least two systems deep and before we even jumped into the neighbouring system they were bugging out. So we took over the Bubble Camp instead.
This was my first look at null sec and the first time I'd seen warp bubbles too, about 15 of them had been left behind.
Again the nature of RvB was highlighted, when after arriving in PF-346 a lone voice in the R-v-B channel announced "Hi, are there any Red recruiters on line, I want to join Red Fed". The pilot in question, was accepted into Red Fed, invited into Fleet and joined us for the remainder of the op.
We stayed on the Bubble Camp for perhaps 15 minutes and caught a solitary Hound. Then with at least one other Stealth Bomber stalking us, we decided to move on and headed for low sec, eventually arriving just outside Amamake. One of our pilots in a Broadsword tried to bait the locals in one of the asteroid belts, but they were very wary and fled the moment local spiked. We should have left after that attempt but everywhere else was dead, so we returned to Amamake for a second attempt. This time our Broadsword pilot successful sprang the trap on a Harbinger and we warped in and melted him quickly. Other local warped in and we started to engage a Hurricane. Word went out that a Cryno had been activated (whatever that is?), and the next minute this arrived:
Amageddon Navy Issue Amageddon Navy Issue Amageddon Navy Issue Bhaalgorn Megathron Navy Issue Megathron Navy Issue Megathron Navy Issue Megathron Navy Issue Typhoon Fleet Issue Absolution Curse Lachesis Guardian Guardian
All of them from The Illuminati Corp of the Pandemic Legion.
We shat ourselves! Then ran for it.
http://bluerep.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=5243854
We actually lost a Typhoon, Drake, Omen, Rupture and a Frigate.
As the original Harbringer hadn't been red to us, we spent a tense 15 mins warping around waiting for the GCC. Then we scouted out a few more low sec systems without success, so reluctantly called it a night.
I for one was well pleased with the outcome, my total for the night was 19 Kills for the loss of 1 Thrasher and... did I mention that I'm a loot wh**e, with a speciality for scooping Drones? ...some Scorch Bombs from that Hound wreak and a shed load of Drones. But most importantly I came back in my ship! My hanger staff were shocked "Did you dc right after undocking?" one asked. A night of firsts for me, that and first look at null sec, first time I'd seen a warp bubble and first time I'd witnessed a Titan Bridge (whatever that is).
There is nothing finer that crushing ones enemies, driving them before you and hearing the lamenting of their woman. But failing that, having pity sex with the hot widow of one of your fallen comrades comes a close second.

I like your write up, sounds like a classic op... a bit of a slow start, some action, then a bit too much loitering for your own good :D
Losing to PL is nothing to be ashamed of either, they really know their tactics ~

Saw the title of this thread, came in eagerly anticipating news of an alliance named after, staffed by, or devoted to the worship of fighting Pandas.
Proceeded to read thread, was disappointed in the lack of Pandamage, left unfulfilled.

TBH, the Bhaalgorn alone was probably worth more than your entire fleet put together. If it weren't for the fact that they were probably spider tanked to hell and back again, you totally should have tried to take a few of them down. ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

"If it weren't for the fact that they were probably spider tanked to hell and back again" are the key words in that post ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

"Cyno up!" Navy issue this, fleet issue that, a f*cking Bhaalgorn, they have three Guardians!
Classic chatter over the coms.
Sadly I was in Old Man Star scouting at the time as that was my job for the night. But hearing the excitement over eve voice I wanted to be there.
And yes we did think about taking one of them out RvB pilots on purple fleet roams are told over and over that they will lose their ship so most are ready to give the good fight at all costs.
Maybe next time PL, just maybe.

While I give them **** in local about Fountain in IT; tbh what would you do with 10 friends, some navy battleships, and an available Titan bridge?
Don't knock someone just for using their assets. In reality we are all just a little envious of their little pwn fleet
PROTIP: They do need to bring more tackle though. =================== Go Bucks! |

itt hauling alt has an opinion, other gamer tries to score forum points off it *shrug*. I was in all three itterations of RvB and think it's a great idea, and would have expected them to get stuck in when an opportunity like this arose.
