OK, so we all know trading your ISK for RL money is against the rules. That's cool. Totally understand.
But what about trading ISK with the currency of another game, like say... WoW, EQ2, or Second Life? Is that the same as trading for RL$? Legal or not?

I'm sure both game companies would be totally ok with it, don't you?

Seriously, wtf is wrong with earning ISK by actually playing the game?
I mean I know it's a radical concept but isn't that sort of the point? --Vel

Thanks Cat o'Ninetails, a useful reply with good quotes in the other topic. So it's illegal. I had a feeling it was, but wanted to double check. :)

Actually, I was more looking to trade my boatloads of ISK for the ingame currency of another game. I have too many ISKs and nothing to spend them on. And no, you can't have any. :P
I mean, I don't even pay subscriptions. I just buy plexes. And even after buying plexes or GTC, I still have tons. I've just got it figured out ya know? Good industrial base makes lots of money.

Honestly. It should be damn clear that CCP wont allow trading EVE online ingame items for anything outside the game itself...

Nothing outside the game? Really? What about signature creation? Vent/KB hosting? Many 3d party apps (EMMA, etc) charge isk for products that are entirely created and used outside the game.
CCPs policy is written in the wind.

Funnily enough, those are things explicitly allowed in the ToS, so yes, the rules about ISK trading (or item trading, for that matter) are pretty damned clear. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

i asked some similar questions in the thread i linked
it turned into a gm saying that i could not pay my friend to mow my lawn or wash my car (even if in an eve t-shirt) in isk lol
Originally by: GM Horse
The only out-of-game services that may be sold for ISK are directly EVE related web services, such as killboard hosting, ventrilo/teamspeak servers, corporation website hosting, and such. No, you may not get your mate to wash your car for ISK, even if he will wear a EVE t-shirt in the process.

If ISK could be traded for cash or real-world goods and services, it would (obviously) have a real-world value. In that case CCP would have to pay tax on the pixels.
