Dear miners.
I assume you are already aware about the next Hulkaggedon II scheduled for 7-14 January.
There are many effort/time/isk/items put on it, they even have their own website.
Seems like everybody, greedy traders, manufacturers and griefers are already slobbering because of the consequences of such event.
I really don't get why, but seems like the whole EVE universe is against miners.
Macro miners who get rich while play AFK, Real money traders, low mineral prices, insurance fraud.. all of EVE "problems" are caused by the evil miners.
Even when CCP showed in their QEN Q3 2009 that Operation Unholy Rage against RMTes, affected, mainly, Mission farmers.
Hell, a miner with a maxed Hulk can make, how much? $8-10Mil/h? while a semi-AFK mission runner can make $20-25. and flood the marker with cheap mineral after reprocess all the loot.
Don't get me wrong I don,t have nothing against Mission runners, I just use their profession as an example of how miserable is actually mining in high-sec compared with it.
But no, they don't get ganked, is the poor miners who has to pay for all.
Well, I say F*** 'em all!
I would like to ask your help in ruining the Hulkaggedon II by just keep everything with a mining laser docked up in the second week of January.
This will frustrate the the pirates giving them 0 targets, F*** up the manufactures whom promoted the event by giving prizes expecting huge profits, ruin the day of greedy traders who have already speculate and bough Hulks just to resell them after hundreds of miners lose their owns.
Also, after one week on no mining activities at all, prices of low-end minerals might rise a bit (or so I hope)
So, don't be fool and don't let them blow up your beloved ship. Keep your mining ship docked and do other stuff during that week.
Fly safe.

I was already planning on keeping my Hulk docked up until the kids are done playing. But thanks for the advice.
Also, publicly announcing when you're going to destroy what ships where, might not be the best tactic. I sure hope none of you folks are working for any sort of government agency.

Alt0101, you say it's all because the people participating hate miners and associate all miners with isk sellers blah, blah blah. That's total crap tbh, I think it's about fun and about playing the game how people want to "the way Eve is supposed to be played". You want to mine and others want to blow **** up, simples.
Also, due to the number of people in Eve who do mine, the chance of a person getting ganked isn't going to be very high if you think about it. My miner alt will be out clearing the belt's of ore as usual for sure, and you are right, if everyone stops mining during Hulkageddon the mineral prices may rise, so I should have a good stockpile made up while you lot are spinning your ship in station. ------

Ever heard of a Battle Hulk, you get 4 or 5 of these sitting in a low sec belt and man you can put your 0.0 tank setups through the grinder, while surprising the crap out of guys in bs s. Or go sit in high sec near a newb system where "new pirates" read about hulkaggeon on the forums and try to take you down..
Order of operation.
1- scram 2- web 3- neut 4- drones 5- laugh like a maniac.
Have some fun with it, its only a week.

Just move 10 jumps away from four main trade hubs and you are safe, adhd kids doesn't have the attention span to fly and search miners. It's amazing how fast these kids get bored

While I applaud your good intentions, I have to ask if you realize that Hulkageddon is, in effect (if not intent) a boon to miners?
True miners, those that enjoy the logistics and proper planning that goes into a good mining op, won't be effected a whit by Hulkageddon. Those miners that actually play the game with the slightest impersonation of a clue can avoid 99% of the risk involved in suicide ganking.
Remember guys, you don't have to beat the ganker to win, you just have to outlast him.
My alt was mining happily in a belt while the first HAG was in effect. Never had a bit of a problem. Saw the Catalysts warp in, and I warped out. No issues at all. The 5 AFKer's in the area were not so lucky. I wish I could remember who it was, but I'm more than a bit drunk now, and to be honest, I was more than a bit drunk during then
Point is, most folks who read your post aren't going to have more than a minor inconvenience from HAG, and those that do most likely have only themselves to blame. __________________________________________

Well, that's, in fact, my aim.
I just want to give a warn to the guy who mine just because he like it due its role play (OMG a guy who like minig ) yes they do exist. And/or the average guy who mine to get some iskies to pay other stuff. To the Macro miners who use programs to exterminate the roids just to sell isk for real money, well.. I hope they don't read the forums
So, if you know how to take care of yourself, fine. If you are a newby and/or not really sure how to survive a gank attack, keep your head low, aka stay docked up when the gunfire start.

Hell, yes is F*** real. With more than 8b+ships in prizes is no longer "just for the lolz". Is business. And, yes they have made a website to keep everything organized.
Oh, and you can even join their In-game channel: "Hulkageddon II"

I actually was mining during Hulkagedon and never actually noticed any danger in my ice belt.
It was not near a major trading hub, so I never got any attention. And really, for those that are worried: go run a few missions if you are truly afraid for a Hulk that most likely paid itself off years ago.

Simple fact, Hulkagedon is no different than any time of year when the gankers are out. The only difference now is they're keeping score and have prizes.
If you mine properly (no afk mining, no boting, pay attention, stay aligned) then you're absolutely fine.
In the end, even if they destroy a thousand hulks the only thing that'll change on the market is a spike in Hulk purchases and related modules. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

Most of your advice is good, but please stop spreading aligning misinformation. Aligning only matters when you are moving. I try explaining this to people in game quite a bit, and no one ever believes me, even though there are Official Sources stating so.

"If you give the warp command without aligning the ship in advance, the ship will attempt to align itself automatically. Automatic alignment may be hindered by the presence of nearby obstacles (such as other ships or asteroids) which must be negotiated before your ship can build up enough speed for the warp drive to engage."
These seconds do count when someone who you think is there to kill you appears on your grid. The last thing you need is to attempt to warp off only to find yourself bounce on a rock you thought was out of range. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

I might just be doing the same thing.
Thinking of making a new trial account for it. Gathering intel on ppl participating in hulkageddon and stalking them. Gonna see if more ppl in my corp are up for that. :)

I see a fantastic amount of emo whining in your post, you are trying to make this all very personal and such. This is really very very entertaining to me.
I dont care who you are, I dont care who the miners are, I dont care how you feel about it either.
I'm having fun, my friends are having fun, we are laughing a great deal at your agitated responses and pettiness, and Im genuinely having a fabulous time of it...and we havent even fired a shot yet.
And the more you sputter, the more you try to question my motives (which you clearly are UNABLE to comprehend) the more fun we have.
This is terrorism, in a sauce of nihilism, purely for the sake of doing it. And the more people agitate against it, and the more people are afraid, the more we win.
Perhaps there is a real life lesson here to be learned for application in the real world.
You know how you beat terrorists? By ignoring whatever they do and carrying on as if nothing happened. Everything else is playing into their hand, the goal of terrorism isnt damage afterall, it's fear. it's making other change their way of behaving and life under the threat of what you -might- do.
Every forum post, blog comment, twitter warning is another victory for Hulkageddon.
You cant beat us, because there is no way for us to lose.
The vultures are already circling.
And to all the dear miners that actually have a clue (some of which have posted in this very thread) you are of course completely right. Any miner with half a brain is effectively "safe" from all but the most overkill gank attempt. as they always have been. It's the brainless ones that will always bear the brunt of the punishment, which is of course to the slight benefit of the smart ones in the end.
Alt1010101whatever's loud screaming and crying only sweetens the pot of course, since this is precisely the caliber and vintage of tears and frustration that power catalysts through it's twin tear-injection reactor. A marvel of gallentean engineering.
Keep it up!

On a totally unrelated note did you know you could buddy invite a trial account- then have the trial account use a plex and your main gets a free month? Its like no loss of plex at all, and if done soon you get one of those free zephyrs.
Im sure a gank dessy cant be trained in a matter of days so your totally safe mining. MUHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
